The Long Wait Is Over and Now Our Community Has Expanded!
Graciously, the first Meet and Greet of the Filipino Steemians here in the UAE was held successfully on 27th of January 2018 which started at 7:20 pm and ended past 10:00 pm held at Juancho’s Billiard Hall and Asian Cuisine Located in Muroor Road Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
But before anything else, I would like to extend my gratitude to the power couple: @kennyroy and supermom @arrliinn for encouraging us and taking initiative to this event. And of course, our forever thanks to @bayanihan and @surpassinggoogle (Terry) for the unending support to the Filipino Steemit Community and to Terry (@surpassinggoogle) who extended his hand for us to pull this event. And to all who came and made the event successful, thank you so much mga Kabayan! Without everyone, this event wouldn't be successful.! I have seen everyone’s dedication and eagerness and that made me happy. The crowd was just overwhelming. 🙂
Out of 36 confirmations, the attendees reached 38 last night! Fulfilling, isn’t it? The venue was perfect for our headcounts plus the TV which was used for the presentation and the foods were superb Thanks to our lovely organizer @pingcess who’s also in charge with the attendance sheet and giving our name tags so we can easily recognise everyone. You know what amazes me? It’s when I don’t know their real names but upon reading their nametags I will say “oh it’s you!” for short, our usernames served as our identity in this community. Simply amazing!
“E” for the EFFORT of the power couple! Supermom @arrliinn made a presentation and explained what STEEMIT, how to beautify our blog by using markdown and HTML; and what & how curation works. It was well explained and everything was covered up. Her presentation lasted half an hour and we had our sumptuous dinner.
After dinner, @kennyroy discussed the Steem WALLET and how we can manage it using coins.ph; and he also discussed block trades. As a minnow, I was able to gain a lot of information and everything was covered up by the power couple. It was indeed a fun-filled - informative night.
Meet and Greet
After the presentations and the Question and Answer, the most awaited pictorial happened and we were able to talk with each other. I was able to have a deep conversation with @jovema, @lifediaries2nd and @pingcess about the presentation. Knowing my co-steemians and meet them was an honour and inspire me to be more active in this platform. Til next time 🙂💕
