We have received a multitude of AMAZING applications from so many potential Steem Ambassadors! We are truly blown away by the response! These people are dedicated to promoting Steem and are benefiting the whole community by constantly setting high standards and inspiring others to join, learn, grow and participate in the Steem blockchain.

We have finished reviewing our first batch of applications and are in the initial phases of rolling out our #promo-steem voting guild. This is an ideal time therefore, to begin announcing who we propose to be Steem-Ambassadors based on our reviews of the applications.

We will release more details about how the process of appointing a Steem-Ambassador will go in a later blog. The process of appointment ensures that we have a decentralised mechanism and that each Steem-Ambassador will be accountable to the community.

Steem Ambassadors as an Integral Part of the Promo-Steem Voting Guild

At Promo-Steem, we wanted to remove ourselves from the decision of which promoters get the rewards as this results in a centralized, potentially corruptible model, or at least one with a small amount of central points of failure.

We therefore set up the voting guild using the votes of the Ambassadors to decide where the rewards from the guild go. Since the Ambassadors will be respected, trusted members of the community, this results in a decentralized guild which is very difficult to corrupt and has a large amount of distributed points of failure rather than one or two as we currently have.

The guild tracks the votes of the Steem Ambassadors and if any 3 of them vote on a blog that is tagged with promo-steem the @steem-ambassador guild will provide an up vote to said blog. This is the model we will proceed with for now until we iron out any flaws in the system and make any further improvements.

The requirement, therefore is that the Steem Ambassadors MUST interact with the blockchain on a regular basis by up voting great quality work on the promo-steem tag regularly.

There were 1,100 posts on the promo-steem tag this last 6 days which is incredible. This means that we will have to set the number of steem ambassadors in order to serve this number of blogs. This is something that we will adjust going forward as the voting guild develops. Since the voting guild is such an important part of the Promo-Steem movement we have decided to make it a key part of the Steem Ambassador Responsibilities below.

Steem Ambassador Responsibilities

We will support our Steem-Amabassadors and guide them through this journey. We will do our best to adjust these responsibilities in the future to ensure they are realistic and achievable as we go forwards.

As Steem Ambassadors of our amazing Steem blockchain, the following responsibilities apply:

• Up vote at least 35 great quality promo blogs per week on the #promo-steem tag

• De-activate and do not use auto voting bots on the #promo-steem tag. Manual curation on the promo-steem guild ensures the integrity of the promo-steem community. The Steem Amabssador should follow the @steem-ambassador voting trail on steemauto.com.

• Continue to create amazing promotional events and activities for the Steem blockchain!

• You are appointed by the community, and therefore serve on behalf of the community.

• Hold yourself accountable to the community and demonstrate what you are doing on a regular basis to add value to the #promo-steem community and the Steem blockchain in general.

• You shall act as a point of contact in your local area for Steem promotion related work.

• Build teams of promoters / ambassadors and networks which facilitate the organization of events and implementation of Steem projects into local economies.

We will get feedback from our Steem-Ambassadors as we go forward and refine these responsibilities as needed.

Ambassador Negligence

Since Ambassadors have taken on such an important responsibility as representatives of the Steem community, should they behave in a negligent way, that does not benefit the guild or the community, a mechanism will be available for the community to highlight this so that it can be addressed.

How to support #Promo-Steem

• Join the https://steemauto.com/ curation trail for @steem-ambassador - Add a bit of your voting power to reward promoters!

• Delegate SP to @steem-ambassador - If you have the means, please consider delegating some Steem Power so we can incentivise promotional work. All curation rewards that @steem-ambassador earns will be returned to the delegator each quarter based on their share of the overall delegation, so this is an active investment too!

• Follow our work, and get involved - Watch out for upcoming @steem-ambassador posts and give your approval to the Steem Ambassadors coming online.

• Curate on posts tagged with #promo-steem - The more people offering upvotes to the promoters, the more attractive it becomes to do high quality promotional work...which remember helps EVERYONE here!

• Do some promotional work yourself - blog about it using the #promo-steem tag, which is one of the fastest growing tags on the platform! There are so many ways you can do it, and we have a vibrant community who want to get stuck in with you!
