GK's Deep Delve into the Personality of Introverted Thinkers and Extroverted Explanatory Style

Hi Steemit Friends,

Today I wanted to discuss personalities, specifically the fairly rare ENTP personality from the Myers Briggs personality test.

Lets preface with the fact that I have taken 4 years of psychology, and logic. Throughout my degree I enjoyed some fantastic personality tests. I have also taken vague, confusing, inaccurate personality tests. Myers Briggs is the first kind. It has a massive community behind it and is the first highly comprehensive, easily understood test that I've carried with me.

If you have never done the Myers Briggs, go to 16personalities.com

As some of you may already know, I'm an ENTP. I've tested myself several times over the last few years and I don't seem to waiver. ENTP means that I am Extroverted, Intuitive, Thinking and Perceiving. Now you might be thinking "You better be thinking and perceiving or you're in for trouble" and its true! But this read out means I have an affinity for these things.

The other elements of personality are Introversion, Sensing, Feeling and Judging. ISFJ, my polar opposite. While I feel like we wouldn't get along, I think in some crazy way we would. I'd do the thinking and they could handle the feels.

So we've Identified 4 dialectical pairs:

       Extroversion vs Introversion
       INtuition vs Sensing
       Thinking vs Feeling
       Perceiving vs Judgement

These pairs outline your affinities, but there are also the recessive personality traits.

As an ENTP, Myer Briggs says I have External Intuition(ne), Internal Sensing(si), Extroverted Feeling(fe) and Introverted Thinking(ti).

Strength: External Intuition

Pattern Recognition, Future Possibilities, Exploring / Entertaining Multiple Contradictory Theories. Finding value in the mundane. Reinvention. Discovery and Rediscovery. If you need an idea guy, I'm right here! Haha.

Weakness: Internal Sensing

Inherently not as strong as my other qualities. People with high sensing are grounded in reality. My sensing expresses itself by organizing the mind, reciting names, reviewing my business connections, but I struggle with being consistent and sometimes in execution. I take the good, and be cognizant of the bad.

Strength: Extroverted Feeling

ENTP's tend to be expressive, and conversational. They often explain their complex brain children to others. Sorry 😅 We're an excited bunch, and we may have you fully invested and on board by the end of coffee.

Strength: Introverted Thinking

Introverted thinking is the cognitive resource that powers my logic machine. If you stripped away the exterior of this rugged Canadian lumberjack of a man, you'd find a daydreamer who connects ideas, builds frameworks, and does math and puzzles just for fun. Heck, I took a degree in Applied Ethics, essentially complex logic & emotion based puzzles.

What if I love Steemit because it was made for people like me...

So we have outlined that I LOVE things that are out of the ordinary. Repetitive tasks are 100% not happening. Multitasking is out too! I'm happiest when its just me and my creation. Or in the case of Steemit its also between me and other peoples creations!

As someone who LOVES to share my ideas... I LOVE to explore your ideas as well. I make connections. I meet people. And I continue to explore the world in my own unique way.

To a degree, I feel like Steemit was made for people like me. Its complex. Its available for me to sink my teeth into and the rabbit hole goes deep! Call me Rabbit Hunter.

I Run on novelty, excitement and newness

How do I stick with something?

In one word, I train myself. I have learned that as someone who is so expressive, cognitively active and externally focused, I need to remember internal focus. I used to not only not be organized but actively avoid organization so that I could enjoy my chaos. However, chaos isn't sustainable.

The idea was wonderful while I was crafting it.

I have felt...

It was good... 3 months ago when it was new and exciting. Now its -just- hanging out making money for me. BORING.

This is why I'm broke haha.

I am happier to create something and send it off into the world. Go, be free!

Now my idea is making cash, but so what?

I like to make money as much as anyone. BUT I need more than just money for me to be invested. I don't just sometimes need a higher purpose. I always need a higher purpose. If I create something that just makes money for me, I'm unhappy cus I can't celebrate in an extroverted fashion. People don't care! And neither do I anymore.

So if no one cares, how do I make them care? By fixing something that they recognize as a problem for them or others.
So I focus on fixing other peoples problems instead. cus I have no problems lol

Why can't I deal with boredom?

There's a few types of boring tasks. Two of them are Sitting Boredom, and Active Boredom. In Sitting Boredom, your mind is free to explore, daydream and create. I'm usually happy to be inactively bored, although it may not last long.

I construct my own life!

Through autonomy, mastery, and purpose, combined with a knack for introverted thinking, gamifying, and Connecting, I navigate my once very confusing life by making life work for me.

I'd love to start some discussion in the comments.
