Positivity or how to handle negativity

Positivity is boring?

Most of my time here on Steemit is packed with fun, true interaction, engagement and content creation. I even learned a little bit what trading means and how a blockchain works (well basic low level). What I also learned is that a passion for positivity is maybe seen as weakness or boring behaviour. I wrote about positivity earlier already (more than once) - now it is time to elaborate more on the topic. I also know it is a hard job and everyone (including myself) has this little Devil Inside but keep on trying!

Characteristics of a positive mind:

  • Positive thinking.
  • Constructive thinking.
  • Creative thinking.
  • Optimism.
  • Motivation to do things and achieve targets.
  • Attitude of happiness.

Positivity enables a lot:

  • Makes you feel inspired
  • Gives you the strength not to give up too early
  • Handling failure in a positive way to turn around this to success
  • Self esteem and confidence
  • Solution orientated mind

A positive attitude enables you more likely to become successful as a negative approach. Your positivity will also affect people around you and your environment.

It is not easy always to keep your positivity - but it is worth the effort!

Negativity breeds negativity. Positivity breeds positivity. On steemit this is exactly the same!

Some ways to handle Negativity

  • Don’t take other people’s negativity personally
Most negative people behave negatively not just to you, but to everyone they interact with. So what to do? Even if someone insults you directly please remember it is their opinion which is based on their own self-reflection. Do not fight and argue - remain positive and smile!

  • Spend as much time as possible with positive people
The mindset of others you spend your time with has a huge impact on your personality. Do not spend your time with negative people but surround yourself with people who reflect the person you want to become.

  • Lead by positive example
Just practice what you preach (not easy all the time!) by protecting your positive space and keep conversations focused on optimistic areas even negative people can relate to. Disarm their negativity with your positive attitude and smile!

  • Provide Help
Some negative people complain because they need help - some of their comments might sound negative but the purpose behind is different. They might need your help. Sometimes a simple “Is there anything I can do to help you?” can solve an issue. Offer help and let them know they are not alone.

  • Let go and move on
If all else fails, remove yourself from the wrong situations and relationships. Some people are like dark clouds; when they disappear, it’s a brighter day. Sometimes you just need to let go and eliminate the negative from your life.
