Another Steemit Milestone!

We recently had our 2nd Steemit University Campaign which happened last Friday, August 11, 2017 in University of Cebu (Our beloved university.

Following that successful campaign, we receive lots of interests from people outside our campus. These individuals are composed of Students from other universities, Employees from different companies, Teachers and others working in a Call Center Industry. Then we immediately set up a campaign orientation for them to introduce the platform of Steemit and how the incentives run through our blog.

The Venue

The venue was at Jollibee Tamiya, Basak, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines (6015). A location that is in the center of our homes for us to easy access the venue. Quite convenient for other users to easy access the place.

Then It Started

I present my thoughts via powerpoint presentation. Special thanks to @dwaeji-aizelle for lending his laptop to me (hopefully soon I can have one) - which I discussed the concept of Steemit. The presentation was made out of only 10 Questions to explain it to them. These were the questions :

  • What is Steemit and How it functions
  • How can we earn?
  • What are the rules in Steemit?
  • Steemit Markdown Techniques
  • Proper usage of Tags (and How to)
  • Some techniques to succeed in Steemit
  • Steem, Steem Dollars, and Steem Power
  • Reward Payout Computation
  • Steem Power vs Voting Power
  • Steps in Withdrawal of Earnings

The participants were hyperactive, throwing a lot of questions which is a very good indication that they were listening and that they were really focused on the presentation. Luckily, I was able to answer them all.

The Participants

Due to time constraints (we started at 4pm and ended in 7pm), we had agreed that others will sign up in their homes. Some were already registered but one thing is sure - they understood and they like the platform! I am making a group chat for us, separated from the group that we had in our previous campaigns, to walk them through if they have questions. Then a group page for them to post their blogs (especially the introduceyourself). I'll make sure that they will be guided and assisted if they have concerns.

Treating them A Meal

I treat them a budget meal, something they appreciate and we were also really hungry! (Including me Lol). We still continue talking while eating, answering their questions, explaining our plans and visions.

I encouraged them to use the new tag that we are pushing :

#philippines - for posts written in English. Any article will do as long as they've written the word in English language.

#pilipinas - for posts written in Native Languages (Tagalog, Bisaya, Waray, Hiligaynon, and etc). Any article as long as they've written the word in Filipino Native languages.

Why push it?

For us to trace their posts, using the same hashtag will make it for us easy to curate. Plus, currently we are having a team of Phcurators which are currently trained to reward the best posts written by Filipinos. Thus, using the tags mentioned above will be very much important.

Testimonials

We let @darthnava and @antonette's stories emphasized how healthy and loving Steemit community is - helping one another. A community that is there to help the needy. They were shocked, and at the same time glad that our countrymen were helped by loving Steemians.

This is the recently conducted Steemit's 2nd university campaign. Most of them have recruited friends also to join.

Our vision is really happening

Our goal is to promote Steemit and create a very healthy community that helps one another. We believe the potential of STEEMIT, and that we forsee how it can help individuals here. Steemit is a great platform that I am proud to share. Along with @dwaeji-aizelle and @themanualbot (was not able to attend due to an important matter), we expect more people to get hooked in Steemit.

Thank you everyone, Steemit family for spending your time. Your support will be very helpful to push our future plans.

All the best,

@jassennessaj
