Star vs the forces of evil: a romantic comedy with more than one dimension

Hello everyone continuing with my articles on TV series this time I wrote about a series that fascinates me very much, Star vs. the forces of evil not only for their comedy and romance, but also for their teachings that let us see through the series, let's just say let's start.

Synopsis:

In the magical realm of Mewni, there is a peculiar peculiar princess Star Butterfly ,she is not like the others, princesses, because she is very rebellious and instead of doing normal princess things, she spends her day fighting monsters and causing riots, but everything changes on her 14th birthday when she receives the royal wand, a magical artifact of great power inherited from the queens of Mewni, Due to her personality and poor handling of the wand, she is sent to earth, where she is transferred to Ecco Creek as an exchange student and is housed with the Diaz family, now with the Diaz family's teenage son, Marco Diaz, they will live the most crazy adventures facing all the evils that they plan to do with the power of the Star wand.

Analyzing the characters:

  • Star Butterfly: She is the magical princess of Mewni (currently Queen), she has a crazy and extroverted personality, she always does what she wants and rarely follows the orders of others, at first she was very carefree and was only doing what seemed to be most fun for her, with time she becomes more aware and empathetic, Her behaviour towards monsters is very striking because she believed that all monsters were bad but then she realizes that this is not true and that everything she was told was prejudiced, her magical ability evolves over time being compared to Eclipsa (the queen of darkness), she is in love with Marco and although she currently has an affair with Tom, her affection for Marco is more evident throughout the seasons.

  • Marco Diaz: Best friend of Star and his romantic interest, he is a kind and helpful guy who always keeps things in order, he is very fanatical about Karate, being his passion, he is also a very good student with 10 cigars, at first he was reluctant to live with Star because of the great cyclone of calamities that accompanies him, but this changes when he realizes that he likes the thrill of fighting with Star, although he doesn't have magic skills like Star that doesn't prevent him from being of help when she needs him.

  • Tom Lucitor: Half demon boy and Star's current boyfriend, at first Star doesn't like him because they ended up because of his anger problems, so he becomes obsessed with Star, going so far as to do whatever it takes to keep Marco and Star from becoming a couple, later he develops a friendship with Marco after he kidnapped him and then becomes formal when they go to the movies together, She stopped being interested in Star shortly after that, it wasn't until the bell dance that they shared a nice moment, this evolved into something else when she realizes that he is really trying to change, so she decides to give him another chance.

  • Ludo: First antagonist of the series, he is an obsessed being to possess the Star's wand therefore, he frequently sends his monsters to get it, he is a little silly but compared to his monsters he is much smarter, even so he is easy to manipulate since Toffe did not take long to infiltrate his lair and take away his command, a very common characteristic of his is his big outbursts of anger that make him act hastily.

  • Moon Butterfly : She is the former queen of Mewni and mother of Star, who after a battle disappears leaving Star in charge, tends to be very severe with her daughter, because she believes that her attitude is not common of a princess, she also has a lot of prejudice against monsters because one of them murdered her mother, she is kind and kind with her sweets and will do whatever it takes to protect them.

  • River Butterfly: Star's father and king of Mewni, he is not as good at leading as his wife but he makes up for it with his charisma and his particular physical strength, he tends to be very impulsive, a characteristic he inherited from his daughter, he is very loyal to his kingdom and also very dependent on his wife to make decisions.

  • Eclipsa Butterfly: Former queen of Mewni, called "queen of darkness" for her investigation of dark magic, she abandoned her husband and kingdom to flee with a monster, with whom she had a daughter named Meteora, and was eventually crystallized by Rhombulos, only to be released by a contract she made with Queen Moon which said that when Toffe was destroyed she would be free. She is kind and kind even if she is a bit rebellious and no matter what she is accused of, she always remains calm.

  • Toffe: Second antagonist and so far the one who has caused the most problems for Star, is incredibly cunning being able to predict everything his enemies and allies will do, he also seems to have no remorse in dying or using others to achieve his goals, which seems to be more than twisted, it is not known if this character will return or what his real goals were, which is very intriguing.

  • Meterora Butterfly: Daughter of Eclipsa and Globgor, she was long known as Heinous the director of St. Olga's Reformatory for Whimsical Princesses, separated from her parents at an early age, had a very repressive childhood and was reprimanded for showing her monster and Butterfly characteristics, and to a greater degree was brainwashed to take away her originality, when she regains her memory, she explodes after so many years of being repressed becoming one of the strongest enemies Star has faced.

  • Jackie Lynn Thomas: Marco's first love interest and Ecco Creek student, she is a skater girl with many friendships, she tends to be a bit ignorant since she didn't realize that Marco was in love with her until he confessed to her in "Slumber Party", from this she became interested in him, being patient when he told her all his insecurities in "nolodiga", then invites him to the school dance and admits that he loves Marco's perseverance, Although Marco and Jackie were a good match as seen in "just friends" when they go to a concert together, later after the events of Battle for Mewni, Marco returns to earth halfway through since for him everything he has done in Mewni surpasses his earthly life in every way, after a last attempt to maintain his relationship, Jackie decides to end with Marco so that he is not the one who keeps him anchored on earth.

  • Rhombulos: He is the typical police officer with big sums, he boasts of crystallizing all the wicked of the universe and refuses to accept that he is wrong about an evil, but in the end he succumbs to guilt as is the case of the trial against Eclipsa in which due to pressure he confesses to have hidden his daughter and replaced her with a peasant girl, Apparently he is a close friend of Moon, since he confesses to being in love with her and Glossaryck, although the latter does not admit it, after the events of Butterfly trap, Star stopped trusting the commission and therefore Rhombulos, for having hidden the truth.

  • Hekapoo: She is a long-lived woman who is in charge of forging all the dimensional scissors, she seems at first to be strict with the rules and faithful to her work, but after spending years with Marco and working with him, she realized that there are more important things, going to the point of not following the rules once and also proves to be very loyal to Marco since he went to his rescue when he needed it.

Relationship between the main characters:

  • Starco( Marco and Star): Since the red moon dance we could see that in these two there was more than a simple friendship, and because of the red moon their souls are together so that with the passage of the seasons we see more and more of this appearing at an important moment of the couple, although Star has not accepted what he feels for Marco or rather decides to ignore it as he did until "Star in love" chapter where he confesses to Marco, this was not mentioned again until "Friends of the cabin", where they talk about what happened and Marcó finally had the courage to give a kiss to Star.

  • Jarco ( Marco and Jackie): It was one of the biggest disappointments in the series, Marcó was always in love with Jackie but never had the courage to talk to him or tell him how he felt, until Star came along and gradually began to take confidence and tell him how he feels, but in the end Jackie realized that his relationship was the only thing that tied him to the earth, so he decided to let go instead of forcing him to stay and be miserable together.

  • Tomstar (Star and Tom): They had already been engaged before the series began but this did not work, due to his anger problems, later he invites her to the red moon dance with the hope that the red moon will gather their souls for all eternity, unfortunately Marco ends up dancing with Star and ruins their plans, comes back later trying to do everything to prevent Marco and Star from being together, soon after develops a friendship with Marco who surprisingly has several things in common, In season 3 with the events of "Battle for mewni" and "Day of the Song" he thinks that Star is dating Marco and after having a nice moment they decide to give it another try, it wasn't until "demoncisn" that Star finally returns to Tom, they knew how to handle their relationship well although they had their ups and downs, like when they fought over why Tom didn't take the integration party seriously and preferred to leave the responsibilities aside.

Conclusion:

Although the series is a bit eccentric, his attempts to cure discrimination and racism are real, although everything seems to indicate that the series will have a cliché ending, in which Marco and Star will finally be engaged, everything will depend on what will be the turn of the fourth season, and what role Globgor will play in this season and of course the success of the series, I hope you have liked my post do not forget to vote and leave your commentary, until next season.
