For the last couple of months, I’ve been Recovering for Steem. Today I finallly got out to #runforsteem and my hamstring felt pretty good. Unfortunately I thought the same thing with my last #runforsteem post a month ago. Since my last unsuccessful attempt at a recovery run two weeks ago, the trees have popped with green and I saw plenty of wildflowers blooming along the trail.
I only ran a little over two miles just to be careful with the hamstring. It was a beautiful day and hopefully I’ll be able to increase my mileage before the hot humid days of summer are here.
I did a figure eight loop today in Patapsco Valley State Park, heading up the Lewis and Clark trail to Morning Choice, then doing Old Track Loop to get back to Morning Choice heading east. From there I cut over to Barley and Hops going back to Morning Choice and finishing with the Cascade Falls Trail. It’s not hard to believe I used to regularly get lost out here with all the unmarked intersecting trails. Now I know every log, root, and rock along the way.
It was very apparent that I’ve lost some endurance over the winter as my heart rate spiked with every hill. But it felt good to get my heart pumping.
And more trail flowers for the way home.
This is my entry for @jumowa’s #runforsteem challenge.
