Runnin' The App

This week I decided to do my usual run to work and work to train runs, but instead of stopping Strava and recording two separate runs I just paused it. I was hoping to also log some brisk walking miles at work between classes, and pausing the app definitely helped motivated me to hit record again and do some good loops around campus. The result of the route on Strava made me happy. It looks like I was trying to evade the authorities or something:

There is a stairwell in the old Mint Building that has exactly 100 steps. I make several loops around campus and try to hit that stairwell 3-4 times. It is really amazing how many miles I can end up accumulating like this. I actually use the walk time to catch up on work email.

The run portions were a little different on this day as well. I took a less interesting northern route to work because I had just posted a reflection on running it from a little while back, and decided to get some new pics to update that post. Here is one:

After work I met up with a good friend to talk about absolutely nothing but blockchain for two hours (!) in Rittenhouse Square. After that we walked to his son's school to pick him up, and then I said goodbye and ran back to the train.

As you can see above, I logged a total of 6.4 miles for the day. Not bad for a leisurely work commute and an afternoon chilling with a friend in a park on a warm spring day! Life is grand, especially when you get some movement throughout the day.

Cheers!

Be sure to check out the @runforsteem 5k Training Program. I am coaching a 12-week training program for all levels and there is still time to join!
