One of the forest ducks is from the far east.
The species was successfully acclimatized in the UK and Ireland and in the USA

This duck inhabits forested mountain streams with branches of trees hanging over the water and riverine mountain forests. The Mandarin well swims, while it sits high on the water with a slightly raised tail. Dives rarely, only when injured. Its flight is fast and maneuverable, it easily takes off, sometimes almost straight up. Unlike most ducks, a mandarin can often be seen sitting on tree branches or on coastal rocks. Hunting for a mandarin is prohibited, it is listed in the Red Book of Russia as a rare species. This duck is bred in parks as a decorative bird.
