'Tis the season to do science! My new Science Challenge has a theme appropriate for the season.
My first two challenges (A day in the life of ... and Misconceptions) have been fun for all participants and judges, so I hope for the same effect this time.
What's the topic?
We all know Santa is fake. But ... what if he wasn't? What scientific conditions would need to be met for Santa to exist or at least for some things to work?
How does he know who has been bad or nice? How does he fly? How does Rudolph's nose glow?
Pick a question and answer it - scientifically!
The rules
- You need at least one scientific source to back up your explanation!
- Tag your post with #suesascience and include a link to the challenge.
- Pictures need to be credited if they are not your own.
- English only!
- Comment a link to your entry below this post.
- Winners from the last challenge can participate, but their entries won’t be taken into consideration to give other people a better chance at winning.
- If you want to participate but want to decline the chance to win you can state that at the beginning of your post.
- Winners will be chosen by volunteers from steemSTEM management who won’t participate themselves.
- The challenge ends on the 15th of December 23:59 UTC+1, results will follow soon.
- Known plagiarizers and spammers are automatically disqualified! Same goes for people who are caught stealing their entry from somewhere else (this applies to sources outside of Steemit too. I will check and you will be disqualified and publicly shamed.)
The Rewards
- 30 SBD + 30 SP
- 25 SBD + 25 SP
- 20 SBD + 20 SP
- 15 SBD + 15 SP
- 10 SBD + 10 SP
The SP are directly powered up by the @steemstem account, it's not a delegation!
The SBD are taken out of my personal funds and just like the last time, there is a possibility for additional winners, if the payout of the announcement posts is exceptionally high.
Additional Notes
Every participant who follows the rules will be mentioned in the final post which announces the winners, to give them all a bit more exposure.

And last but not least: Good luck and have fun writing!
