The ForAllSecure team won the DARPA Cyber Grand Challenge (CGC) and a $2m prize for their MAYHEM autonomous computer system which beat out all other competitors to scan for software bugs, create fixes, and exploits for the vulnerabilities. This team is a Carnegie Mellon University startup and was co-founded in 2012 by David Brumley and two Carnegie Mellon graduate students.

This event was the world’s first all-machine cyber hacking tournament. DARPA established this challenge to advance technology to intersect the increase in software vulnerabilities in conjunction with the growth of the Internet of Things (IoT).
