Hey there car fans, sorry I haven't done this for a couple of weeks. For anyone who hasn't seen my previous instalments of shopshots I'll fill you in. I'm a journeyperson automotive service technician who likes to document some of the "fun" things I see at work.
This week I had an SUV to diagnose why the battery was going dead and the heater didn't work.
It turns out the owner spilled coffee on the centre control panel and it shorted a few thing out! Can you see the trail of coffee(smelled like hot chocolate) on the circuit board?
Apparently insurance will pay a $3000 bill for a coffee spill!
Check out that tire! The snow is covering the steel belts that are poking out. Oh my thats dangerous.
Some easy jobs can be a little tricky. For instance this heater blower motor is supposed to fit out through all of theses components.
I had to remove the gas pedal assembly and the brake pedal assembly to replace the blower motor-all within .6 of an hour.
Ha! It did fit through there.
I got it all back together in .7 of an hour and the snow was only starting to melt on the floor mat.
All pictures are taken by me at my work place in Saskatoon.
