“Rice is Rice” Week ONE Six Week Health

Hi My name is Viola I would like thank @healthsquared for this cool challenge. I’m from the Philippines and we love to eat rice. We have rice for breakfast rice for lunch and for dinner. We even eat rice to cure a hangover.

We Filipinos bond with our food.. Sharing and dining with one another is way of expressing to one another that we care.

13659188_1093786777326719_7828727002956050260_n.jpg When I was growing up I always hear the old people say it’s ok if you are not rich as long as there is rice on table. The thing with rice is that it is filling and soothing it’s like a blank canvas you can pair it with any dish.

Bulalo (FILIPINO BEEF MARROW STEW)

Bulalo is extremely satisfying It is often serve when the weather is cold. it can uplift your spirit when you are feeling down or lazy. Plus the old people said that the bone marrow can make you strong and super healthy. As always is serve with rice.

Lechon Belly (Lechon Cebu)

Lechon was an influence by our Spanish colonizers. It is a symbol of status in the barrios when you have this at your parties. Lechon cebu is spin off from the traditional lechon. Lechon is also serve with rice and a liver sauce.

But this is a Six Week Health Challenge so this week I will be preparing a simple dish. I will be saying goodbye to rice.

This challenge is great kickstart for me getting in shape again. I have been off my game for six months due to work. so for next six week hopefully longer I will be maintaining a diet of meat vegetables only. I will also be following 16/8 protocol for I have done this before and it has help me a lot.
