You can always count on family to be there whether it is your blood family or chosen family. That by definition is what family means, the people you cannot get away from being involved with good or bad.
My blood family is fairly broken, parents split when I was in grade 7, father’s side has never been close, mother’s side fell apart shortly after grandma passed. I do have some blood family that I am close to but even my father and I have a limited amount of patience for each other. My brother has always been separate from the family by his own choice, he just does not get along with authority figures.
I think to make up for this lack of blood family connections I have built my own chosen family up, I will do nearly anything to help those I call family. I have lost a fair amount of chosen family to many different things but it has only proven to me their value, cannot put a price on friendship this tight. These are the people that matter the most to me in life, I have chosen to consider them family. Not the same as blood because of the fact I have a choice unlike blood relatives, I have chosen to accept the good with the bad. I am not forced to accept them as they are rather I choose to, the fact of the choice makes all the difference to me.
I have an online family, again I chose to call them this. #OneLoveDTube has been there for me since the beginning of my vlogging and in return I am there for the whole community as much as I can be. I am now a @Partiko Partner, my newest accepted family. Just by being me and doing what I love they have chosen to support me, family much? The Partiko app has reignited my passion for writing which long story short brought me to Steemit in the first place. I started here as a way of honouring a lost family member, Tristan Watterworth, everything in his fashion of always smiling for the other person.
I am honoured to call both of these communities family, blessed with the interaction of new found friends, proud to continue my journey of honouring those I have lost constructing a chosen family everywhere I turn.
