Dear friends! It is my entry for Steemit Music League Challenge S2:R9.
I share with you my interpretation of the piece "Flutuante Gesto" by the Cape Verdean Composer Vasco Martins (1956*). This music is a instrumental "Morna", a dance, and musical genre of this archipelago, formed by ten volcanic islands in the central region of the Atlantic Ocean. Part of the African continent.
Traditionally played with acoustic instruments, the morna reflects the insular reality of this people, the romanticism of the troubadours and the love of the land. It is a musical genre that most identifies the Cape Verdean people. Truly a national symbol, just as tango is for Argentina, the rumba for Cuba, and the samba for Brazil.
The first recording of this music, was realized in 1997 under the name "Gesto Flutuante" in the album "Quiet Moments", played by the composer himself, in a version with two guitars and percussion.
As a curiosity it is noted the fact that the composer decided to reverse the name of the work, from "Gesto Flutuante" in the 1997 version, to "Flutuante Gesto" in the solo guitar version.

Compartilho com vocês a minha interpretação da peça "Flutuante Gesto" do compositor cabo-verdiano Vasco Martins (1956 *). Esta música é uma "Morna"instrumental, uma dança, e gênero musical deste arquipélago, formado por dez ilhas vulcânicas na região central do Oceano Atlântico. Parte do continente africano.
Tradicionalmente tocada por instrumentos acústicos, a morna reflecte a realidade insular deste povo, o romantismo dos trovadores e o amor à terra. É o gênero musical que mais identifica o povo cabo-verdiano. Verdadeiramente um símbolo nacional, assim como o tango é para a Argentina, a rumba para Cuba e o samba para o Brasil.
A primeira gravação desta música, foi realizada em 1997 sob o nome "Gesto Flutuante" no álbum "Quiet Moments", interpretado pelo próprio compositor, em uma versão com dois violões e percussão.
Como curiosidade nota-se o fato de que o compositor decidiu reverter o nome da obra, de "Gesto Flutuante" na versão de 1997, para "Flutuante Gesto" na versão violão solo.
