We live in an age of information and ever more conspiracy theories. Throughout history you will find that we have always had conspiracy theories, but we didn't have the Internet! Therefore we used to rely on good luck to find these great theories out. Nowadays we have access to them all, the truth along with the wild fantasies! We will of course never know for sure what is fact and what is fiction, and that is what drives us to seek the truth and learn what is real and what is ... ?
So what is the greatest conspiracy theory yet?
The greatest conspiracy theory yet is the thing that has the most impact on us as a civilization, and individually as human beings. If we can understand the thing that has the most impact on us as individuals, the thing that shapes our thoughts and actions, then we have found the gold, and we have found a key that can be used to unlock and reveal the mask and the mysteries behind life.
There are more important things than knowing if the government is hiding things from us, or if we have been duped by the system. There are more important questions to be asked! It is when we take a step back, and look within that we start to find the real conspiracy going on!
Have you ever noticed how your own mind can f*ck with you? You can have a word on the tip of your tongue, you know you know what it is, and yet it cannot be found. Then suddenly when you have stopped trying to remember it, it jumps into your head totally randomly. Have you ever noticed how there seems to be 'someone else' managing your whole perspective and outlook on the world. We all create our own stories and inner dialog, and we shape our view of the world based on our own thinking, assumptions and perspective. That perspective is also influenced in a big way by our environment, but just how much of our view of the world is actually real?
Have you ever noticed how some people who are in a toxic relationship cannot see it? Their friends may see it, and even tell them, but still they cannot see it. This happens in a myriad of other ways, and is part of human nature. We have to interpret our world based on our own thinking, and when we WANT a certain outcome then we inevitably start to think in favour of our desires. And if that means ignoring that fact that all the signs are there that someone is being cheated on, or convincing yourself that if you wait a bit longer something will change because you can feel the luck coming, then ignore it we shall!
And so we arrive at the doorway to the greatest conspiracy theory yet. Denial! The act of denial is one of the most prevalent and ignored conspiracy theory's ever known, perpetrated by ourselves on ourselves. We have an incredible ability to convince ourselves of whatever we need to believe to hold our perspective of the world in place. Our mind needs to hide things from our consciousness to keep our Ego safe, so that we can live an illusionary life of being separate from each other. This is the program that we have been fed, and as human beings we believe and comply. Most of us have convinced ourselves that we are powerless because we are told that we are. We tell ourselves that we have to vote because its the right thing to do to preserve democracy, because we are hypnotized into believing this. In a way, most of our core beliefs are based on a hypnotic story that we have been fed and we use denial to perpetuate it.
In order to break out from this hypnotism we have to be very brave! We have to be willing to admit that maybe everything we know about the world and ourselves may not be quite so! We have to be willing to admit that we may not even know who we really are, and that everything we have come to regard as normal, or acceptable could be turned on its head or even made irrelevant!
The Buddha is famous for laughing. The laughing Buddha is able to laugh at almost anything. Have you ever wondered why the Buddha is able to laugh at everything? He is not crazy, and he has great compassion for all life! The Buddha knows something that many do not know, and that knowledge is his perspective of the world. Would Buddha smile at someone's concern about poverty and homelessness? He would! Would Buddha laugh at people very worried about climate change? He would! When we can understand why Buddha is able to smile and remain blissful in any situation, then we have understood the greatest conspiracy theory yet.
"The Buddha sees the juxtaposition and the contradiction of the unenlightened and enlightened states. From this vantage point the world of samsara, maayaa, and avidyaa has the appearance of a comedy as the Buddha looks back upon the folly of the unenlightened and `laughs’ in the exalted sense of sita. This is the gist of the view that prevailed among the Buddhist scholastics, and has persisted by and large throughout the Buddhist world since." (source)
So I think you have your answer, even though i didn't exactly spell it out! There is little point in doing so, since these answers lie within ourselves just waiting to be discovered! We are SO powerful, creative and strong. We can accomplish whatever we set our minds and our hearts on. There is no conspiracy greater than our own denial of our very essence, our very nature, our soul and who we really are.
Level 1 Initiation: Zen
To experience your first initiation in this enlightenment course, please ponder the following question for some time. Please note that the answer is irrelevant, but the process of pondering it is important. When this question has been absorbed into the mind, it will initiate and prepare you for the next initiations.
"Are You Aware of What you Are Unaware Of?"
Please share with us in the comments what this brings up for you.
This is a deep question with far reaching consequences if you dare to say no, which is the only logical answer!
Thanks for being a part of this new 'Enlightening' Series! I think we are going to have a lot of fun!
I leave you with an old favorite song by THE THE called 'Slow Emotion Replay'.
Please do read the words as the music plays ;-)
LYRICS
The more I see, the less I know
About all the things I thought were wrong or right
And carved in stone
So, don't ask me about, war, religion, or God
Love, sex or death because
Everybody knows what's going wrong with the world
But I don't even know what's going on in myself
You've gotta work out your own salvation
With no explanation to this earth we fall
On hands and knees we crawl
And we look up to the stars and we reach out and pray
To a deaf, dumb and blind God who never explains
Every body knows what's going wrong with the world
I don't even know what's going on in myself
Every body knows what's going wrong with the world
But I don't even know what's going on in myself
Every body knows what's going wrong with the world
I don't even know what's going on in myself
This is part one of a nine part series called
