Goblin Mech a common tank

This week's Splinterlands battle challenge theme is Goblin Mech.

Normally I am not the biggest fan of using the goblin mech in my line-ups because of the high cost. I am also a level 3 summoner deck so I only get the piercing ability from Goblin Mech. If I am going to use a higher cost tank I normally use one like Chain Golem as my goto.
Tonight I participated in the Gold Foil Gold Tournament sponsored by splinterlands and came across a battle that I thought that the Goblin Mech would be a perfect fit.

The battle can be found here

Rules were Silenced Summoners and Lost Legendaries

With a 99 mana cap

Silenced Summoners: Means that Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs.
Lost Legendaries: Means legendary monsters may not be used in battle.

Summoner Selection:

In this particular battle the summoner selection was not that important, I chose Daria just to be able to see any dragons I might want to use. I choose Daria with the Life splinter, I could have also chosen Tyrus or Mother Khala. It was more about choosing the life splinter for my strategy.

Monster Selection

1rst Position: I choose the Goblin Mech for this position because of the large amount of health and armor it has and the large mana cap allowed me to use whatever monsters I wanted.

2nd position: I used my Luminous Eagle for this position because it has reach and the highest attack with reach of all the available cards.

3rd position: I put Divine Healer in this position to protect it from attacks from my opponent. I also chose the Divine Healer for it's tank healing cababilities and magic attack.

4th Position:
I choose the Armorsmith for position 4 because he heals the Goblin Mechs armor and needs to be protected because he is a little vulernable with no armor of his own.

5th Position:
I choose Silversield Assassin for my 5th position because she has sneak, double strike, and armor. The sneak and double strike with 2 melee is really nice because it annihilates most emenies from the back with 4 damage per turn. The armor is a bonus because being the only other monster on my team with armor she can be armor healed by the armorsmith some turns.

6th Position
I picked Cave Slug to go last because I like the 3 attack with opportunity that picks the monster that is weakest to attack first. The 5 health makes a decent, not amazing but decent rear tank. I would prefer to keep the silvershield assassins alive longer so this guy gets sacraficed first.

Conclusion:
My strategy worked very well for this battle, I prefer my Chain Golem as a tank but this setup worked well for the situation I was playing.

This week I utilized this post by Splinterlands to pull my card images instead of having to copy and paste each card.

Benefit is I got the card pretty easy no copy paste.
Con it doesn't tell about the ability.
