Hi everyone in the #steemsilvergold community! I'm writing this post as an entry into the contest hosted by @silvergoldbotty "Stacking Goals For 2018". I have enjoyed reading the entries so far, and maybe I have a coin that is on your list for the coming year!
Since I have several types of "stacking" goals for the year, I will break them down by type:
Silver Coins
Gold Coins
Metal Detecting Goals
Personal Goals
All of these will affect my overall stack, hopefully in a good way!
SILVER COIN GOAL
My 2018 silver goal is kind of the same as every year, the old "get all you can" theory. Basically if I have cash on me, gift cards, Steem ☺, etc it is going to get converted into silver pretty quickly. So my goal for 2018 would be to try to find some new avenues to earn even more silver.
Silver coins, I would like to add a NICE trade dollar to my collection. I've had a few over the years with normal wear and tear, but I'd like to pick up a real "keeper".
I have always been a fan of Japanese trade dollars as well.
That is why I love this new silver round that I received today from @phelimint, made by Satosan Metals. It's a low mintage dragon and made to resemble the early Japanese trade dollars. Thanks Phil, it's awesome!
GOLD COIN GOAL
That's an easy one. I need a $10 Gold Indian. You don't understand. I don't just want one, I NEED one!! I'll keep it under my pillow at night. I'll coin toss that shit in the air every chance I get and hope that I don't drop it on the concrete. I'll stare at it while I eat my Cheerios. It will be my new best friend.
Problem is, I just can't seem to pull the trigger on it. I start thinking about gold content, and mark-up, and what else that same amount of money would buy in silver or gold bullion.
My goal for 2018, stop being a wussy and just get one.
METAL DETECTING GOALS
Step 1, find more free silver. Step 2, target more early homesites for Seated Liberty coinage.
My Specific Goal: Find some Standing Liberty Quarters this year. SLQ's were only made for 14 years, and although most aren't super rare, they are very elusive for metal detectorists.
They circulated when times were very tough and a silver quarter represented a hard days work. They were big and they were bright silver, so they didn't get lost often. I've found a few. I'd like to find a few more in '18.

PERSONAL GOALS FOR 2018
- Make a post that generates $20.00 or more. See I have obtainable goals. I don't need a hundred or a thousand dollar post, just enough to feel that I have added something to the community.
I read a comment the other day that basically said ...take a hard look at what you're posting and ask yourself, is it a good post? Is it adding any value? I need to do that for myself. I need to take the time to reflect and be honest about my content and posts. If it could be better, then work to make it better.
Grow my Goldmoney account this year and refer some new Goldmoney members. I have received a lot of support from @goldmatters and appreciate him referring me to Goldmoney.

My most important personal goal for the year, is to become a more valuable member of the #steemsilvergold and #thealliance groups. I'd like to be able to donate to Stax this year, to become one of the tier members. Also, I want to become more active in posts, the discord chat, etc.
I'm just starting out with these groups, so I am thrilled to get an upvote from Stax and other members, no matter what size!! I have met a lot of great people so far and I am always amazed by how supportive and generous they have been. I am very glad to be a part of it!
