If you think something is impossible, don't disturb the person who is doing it. - Amar Bose
Today I saw a mother shedding a tear next to a pool, because she saw her son swimming for the very first time.
What a heartrending moment!
It's especially touching if you know that all this has been possible thanks to a grace of charity.
From November 2017 until now we've been collecting donations in order to finance a swim training for kids, and today it all came to its happy end. Right now I'm a bit overwhelmed by the emotions, too. It's been a long and laborious journey, but today I can say that every step was totally worth it.
Thanks to the Steem community and their generous donations, 14 little ones - with different backgrounds and nationalitities but all living on the isle of Lanzarote -
learned swimming this summer.
It's a gift they'll be able to appreciate their whole lifes from now on.
Before I leave you with today's captures from the closing event, I'd like to give some special thanks to: the @fundition team, the @adollaraday team represtented by @pennsif, the #promo-steem team represented by @starkerz, @cryptocurator and @birdinc for their special contributions to the cause.
I'd also like to unterline the outstanding cooperation with the Red Cross Lanzarote and the aqua&sports center Lanzarote. Without their voluntary support all this wouldn't have been possible.
Thanks to everybody who supported us during the past months! You are legends, too :-)
Now you may ask why the pictures are in black & white: Well when it comes to human beings, I'm totally color-blind. We're all earthlings in the end.
Thanks for the show, you little legends! Your smiles mean a world to us.
Now go out and.... swim! :-)
Much love,
Marly -
