01 - Sketching Kuching : Arrival
One of the best view of the Kuching Waterfront from an aerial view located from the rows of postmodern designed hotels along the riverside. I was staying at the Hilton Hotel the first night I came in, crashing into my friend's room because it would be a waste to take another room as i arrived in Kuching late at night.
Didn't really realized the view that night as it was dlate and dark but when i woke up the next morning, this was the view outside the window;
The room was facing out towards the river where the most iconic building in Kuching, the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly Building and The Kuching Darul Hana S-Bridge.

So the morning before we went out for breakfast, ive got the chance to do a sketch from the comfy room looking out of the window.
It took me around 20 minutes to complete this sketch. It was done on 300 gsm Fabriano Watercolour Paper with Watercolour and ink.
I did get to use my usual Jin Hao fountain pen because when i took it out from my bag, i found it was broken into two. Luckily it was not an expensive, sentimental or rather my favourite pen, but it was the only fountain pen i brought there at that time....and it was just the first day when i found out.
So i have to proceed sketching the whole trip with whatever other pens ive got.
