RUNNING FOR MY LIFE
I head out of town tired but alive.
It’s getting harder and harder to survive.
I’m pleased I found a fire starter.
If it’s no use at least I might barter.
I take a breather behind a tree,
Then see there’s a figure in front of me.
Could the person be friend or foe?
I slink in the shadows till I know.
Call me yellow but run I must.
In this game there’s no one I can trust.
I have enough food for one more day
If only I can get away.
