IMPORTANT: THIS POST IS PART OF AN ELIMINATION GAME – PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO IT UNLESS YOU ARE PLAYING
Infections? Oh no! Those can be deadly, right?
Should the players do something about it, or just wait it out? Could mud help? Could a plant help? I guess we will find out.
Not that all options get picked, but due to the Play-A-Long Pocalypse Game being run by @novaatebatman, I will be providing results for options.
DAY 10 ROUND 1 RESULTS
OPTION 1 – Try to rub a poultice of this plant on your wounds and eat some too just for good measure.
This plant is known as Ground Ivy or Creeping Charlie. Many consider it to be a weed, but it is both edible and incredible. It has many medicinal uses, and one of them is to help fight infections. It can be made into a poultice and applied to wounds. In this case, it worked wonders and helped the players not only get over their infection, but it also gave them a nutritious meal because they ate some!
Players who chose Option 1 have gotten rid of their infection and ate. They now must eat again prior to the end of Day 12 in order to avoid starvation.
OPTION 2 – Try to rub the mud on to your wounds and allow it to dry.
Rubbing the mud into infected wound added more bacteria and did nothing to help. The infection got worse, and became lethal...
Players who chose Option 2 are now dead. They can join back in next season if they wish.
OPTION 3 – Try to rub a poultice of this plant on your wounds and eat some too just for good measure.
This plant was as good of a choice as Option 1. It happens to be Chickweed, which is also a great wild edible that can also help the body fight infections!
Players who chose Option 3 have gotten rid of their infection and ate. They now must eat again prior to the end of Day 12 in order to avoid starvation.
OPTION 4 – Try to rub a poultice of this plant on your wounds and eat some too just for good measure.
This option was not a smart idea. The plant is Poison Ivy, and can react in a very negative manner with the skin. Not only did it not help fight the infection, it made matters worse, and eating it caused the throat of the players who chose Option 4 to swell up until it closed off their airway, so they never even got the chance to die from the infection...
Players who chose Option 4 are now dead. They can join back in next season if they wish.
OPTION 5 - Don't risk messing around with the plants or mud and just keep going.
Not doing anything did not help the infection either. It became worse, and eventually killed the players who chose Option 5.
Players who chose Option 5 are now dead. They can join back in next season if they wish.
DAY 10 ROUND 2 SCENARIO
With their infections cleared up and a nice salad eaten, the players press on. As always, they'll have to be careful.
Continuing through the woods eventually leads them to a trail, which they follow for a bit. Soon, it rounds a bend, and there in the road in front of them a few hundred feet stands a person. Based on their dress and posture, the players are unable to tell who the person is, or if it is a male or a female. All they know is that they are looking directly at the players.
Whether or not they are armed cannot be determined at the moment either, or is they are alone.
OPTIONS
OPTION 1 – Try to jump into the woods as fast as possible and run away.
OPTION 2 – Try to shoot the person to kill them and see if they have anything valuable.
OPTION 3 – Try to make friends and offer to help if needed.
OPTION 4 – Try to pretend to be friendly and then stab or shoot them to try to get any potential goods they might have.
OPTION 5 - Try to act insane in an attempt to drive them away.
PLAYER RESPONSIBILITY
All players who have signed up and want to play must reply to this post with 24 hours in order to avoid elimination and continue gameplay. All players must reply to my option comment below, not to this post. I will reply to my own posts with the options each in their own comments, and the players must reply to whichever comment has the option that they wish to choose.
IMPORTANT: The Backup Food Supplies are in one ration portions, which can feed one player and keep them alive for two days. Also, if for some reason you decide to change your choice prior to the 24 hour response time cutofff, please contact @novaatebatman to make sure you are registered under the correct option.
Also, please remember to include your inventory in your reply. Example:
I have gas, a magnesium firestarter, a NOTE, a PLANT FIELD GUIDE and a pistol with 8 rounds of ammunition. I must eat by the end of Day 12. I choose Option 3 this round.
As always, please remember that all outcomes are predetermined. In an elimination survival game, most of your are going to die eventually. Nothing personal.
