Perth Steem Meetup Recap - Some Helpful Steem Tools

Well, Perth. We Did it!!

We managed to get a group of Steemians together for a bit of a social chit chat, and it was awesome to see you all there (even though I arrived "fashionably late...")!

What a lifesaver Discord turned out ot be, as the meetup chat was quite busy with us trying to find each other, and thanks to @ryivhnn standing on the wall as a "Steem Beacon," we managed to find the right place.

All-in-all there were 10 steemians at the meetup:

Thanks to @superoo7, we have a group photo as well. I completely forgot to take any pictures!!

From left to right: @superoo7, @gio6, @pixietrix, @ryivhnn, @gorc, @thecreativerebel, @bmj, @shai-hulud, @insideoutlet

@nathanmj was there, but as expected disappeared rather quickly to the basketball court...

For a few more pictures and a meetup story, head over to @superoo7's post here.

We had a really good time, and chatted about quite a lot of general topics, and what we do outside of Steem etc. We also discussed various facets of Steem, and how things work, and where to get information from, how delegation works, bots, and how different communities work. It was really good!!

To recap on some of the conversations, here are a few tools to keep you all busy looking at your stats and managing your accounts etc:

  1. https://steemauto.com by @mahdiyari - This is where you can setup autovotes, create your own, or join curation trails, and also schedule posts.
  2. http://steem.supply by @dragosroua - This handy tool gives you a rundown of your expected reward payouts over the next 7 days. It works on the 75%/25% split, so you generally get a little more than what it says.
  3. http://steemdb.com by @jesta - THis is a great tool for seeing different stats about your account, from incoming and outgoing upvotes to rewards etc.. A very hand tool. You can also scrutinize the witnesses at https://steemdb.com/witnesses.
  4. http://steemd.com by @roadscape - This gives you a lot of information about your account, with a feed of all activity on your account. It also has a list of witnesses at https://steemd.com/witnesses.
  5. https://steemit.com/~witnesses - This is where you vote for your Witnesses.
  6. https://steembottracker.com/delegation.html by @yabapmatt - This is a great little tool for managing your delegations. Remember that when delegating, your effective SP reduces by the amount you delegate out, but that SP stays in your wallet. You can undelegate at any time, and it takes 7 days for your delegated SP to return to your effective SP balance. Effective SP is your wallet SP balance plus or minus any SP delgations to or from your account.
  7. Vessel Desktop Wallet by @jesta - This is a desktop wallet where you can manage your account and delegations.
  8. Minnowbooster - This is an upvote service, as well as a leasing service where you can lease SP for yourself, or lease out your excess SP for a fee. Minnowbooster takes a 10% commission when you lease out you SP.
  9. Blocktrades - Blocktrades accepts Steem and SBD, trading them for a few other cryptos (BTC, DOGE, BCH, LTC). It also leases our Steem Power for 90 Days at a fee.
  10. Living Room of Satoshi - This is an Australian service for paying your bills with, or cashing out your cryptocurrency. Steem has been removed form the list, but you can use this in conjunction with @blocktrades to pay your bills in Australia. One great feature or LROS is that you can pay your bpay bills directly from it.

If I have missed out on any please feel free to add them in the comments section...

We're all pretty new on the platform and have lots to learn, so it was fantastic to be able to discuss the various facets of Steem with each other face to face rather than over the chats. That is one of the great things about going to a meetup.... you'll be guaranteed to learn something while you're there socializing.

If you haven't had, or been to a meetup in your area, I highly recommend getting to one, or organizing it yourself. Being an introvert isn't an excuse.. most of us there would call ourselves introverts to varying degrees, but it was quite easy to get chatting and get to know each other a bit, because we all have something in common.. STEEM!

Well that's the wrap from the Perth Steem Meetup. Thanks to everyone who made it there, and to those who didn't: maybe next time!
(@ragerage, I hope your comp went well, and you're not to beaten up!!)

We have a Perth Meetup chat group going on Discord too, to hop onto Discord and look me up (bmj#8660) so I can add you to it. That way we can coordinated the next meetup to fit in with as many peoples' schedules as possible.

Have a great week everyone!
