That’s right, we are 2 weeks away from The Global Block Builders Conference in Austin, Tx. and there are already quite a few steemians who will be attending to represent this blockchain we love so much. Will you be one of them?
What is the Global Block Builders Conference?
The conference will be focused on the blockchain industry as a whole and be a meeting of the minds per say to brainstorm and connect on all things crypto.
Individuals from all over the blockchain industry will be present to discuss one of the most common challenges we face- how to take this revolution we know and love to the mainstream arena. What obstacles do we need to overcome and what can we learn from each other?

Let’s Take Steem Mainstream
One of the things I look forward to most about this specific conference is that it’s not just a “Steem conference.” Not that there is anything wrong with a bunch of steemians getting together to talk Steem, in fact.. steemfest was one of my most favorite adventures.
But how can we expect to take Steem mainstream if we only talk to each other about it?
This isn’t a new thought, as I’ve heard many discuss it - “We talk a lot about Steem here, on Steem, but we need to do it out there.”
I made a post awhile back about walking advertisements, with the idea that we have these accounts here who have a decent following elsewhere and we should be encouraging them to talk Steem to the outside world. Essentially free advertising.
The truth is, we are all walking advertisements for Steem.
We all play a role in taking Steem Mainstream, not just the building we are doing here on the platform to get us ready for the masses, but the promotion and education about Steem we are doing in the outside world. It’s why I think helping to ensure Steem, and it’s kickass community, are represented at events like this is so important.
I’m excited to be able to help represent Steem at the conference alongside some pretty amazing steemians like not only those mentioned above but also @aggroed, @daveonarrival, @steemmatt, @fredrikaa and hopefully a few more.. heck, maybe even @rustle will make an appearance.
I feel that gatherings like this are what will slowly but surely push crypto (and the Steem platform) to the mainstream market, while strengthening our community as a whole.

I hope that this gives us, the Steem Community, a chance to make Steem even more well known among the blockchain industry by showcasing what it is we have to offer and all the things that make us stand out among the rest. Steem does have a way of bringing people together after all 😉
