Recording sessions lasted six months for the song "Born to Run" alone. It was produced by Bruce Springsteen, Mike Appel and Jon Landau. The album consists of 8 tracks and its length is 39 minutes 23 seconds. Born to Run encompasses genres from Rock and Roll and Pop Rock to Power Pop and R&B.

In 2003, it was added to the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.". Additionally, the album received an expanded reissue to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2005, which included a concert film and a documentary detailing the making of the album. Born to Run is a truly successful album and deserves to be one of the best albums of all time. The lyrics of the songs on the album focus on characters who feel trapped and want to escape to a better life through roads and travels. Born to Run is an masterpiece and one of Bruce Springsteen's best records. He has produced a timeless, inspiring record. There are great songs in the album that I have heard and listened to a lot, such as "Born to Run", "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out", "Thunder Road", I can say that my favorite among them is "Born to Run".
