STOP LOOKING AT YOUR REWARDS AND THE STEEM PRICE!
It’s rough out there guys, but don’t let that bother you. I have been on SteemIt almost a year now. It has been an AWESOME experience! When I first came on this site I was amazed at the amount of money people were earning and to be honest, that was my initial reason for joining.
I figured since I was posting content on other social media sites I may as well re-post to steemit and try and make some extra crypto. Not too long after I decided to make content exclusively for the steem blockchain. There was no point in putting out content that was not being valued. It is rare you find original content on sites like Facebook. It's full of memes, "To all my haters post", politics and "comment info" work from home opportunities.
This brings me to the point of this post. I see people complaining about their steemit rewards. Yes, It very annoying to see people who put out stolen or content that you can tell they didn’t try to make reading it worth wild. The thing is, you can’t focus on that. If you do you already lost.

I use this site to feed my creativity. Prior to joining I had not wrote any music for almost 2 years. When I came across @rondonson’s rap challenge I said, “Fuck it… Why not?”. I ended up winning 3rd place and it made me want to continue to create new songs.
Today I don’t care much about the rewards. I care more about meeting new people that are passionate about creating content and building this new world of crypto. Don’t get me wrong, it does feel good to see a large upvote from a whale, but unless you are consistently posting or have some luck those votes are few and far between.
This is my highest paid post…
It was about how I was seeing steem references that were not really about steem. Here is a picture I snapped from an episode of Rick And Morty. 
I think the post was trash and made in a hungover state, so I won't link to it.🤣
I didn’t let it change my views on why I should be here. I knew that it was probably a bot or a really generous whale. Maybe he was high. It was definitely a high for me waking up and seeing that, but really it caused me to chase a dragon. For about a month after I never got more than a few cents for a post no matter how much time I spent. This is when I truly stopped looking at the steem price and my rewards on a post. I didn’t want to be one of those people that refresh the page every 10 seconds looking for a new upvote instead of moving on and thinking about the next story or video I could make.
In February I decided to put more time into SteemIt not for the rewards, but to have a new platform for all the people in the music industry I work with to post their content on. I figured if I could help bring some higher profile people into the fold it will help the site gain more popularity.
I spend time coming up with silly post and sometimes serious topics just so that I can stir the pot a little, but most of my time at the moment is spent helping the artists I work with get on board. I almost have all of my immediate team on board. It is still taking them some time to get interested and used to the way this system works. Once that gets going and they start posting content I can show the other people I work with the benefits of joining SteemIt.
I can’t wait to see what next year looks like for me and my #steemgang on here! My advice to new steemians is to just do what you were already doing and don’t look up!
