Before any update news you must know that: SteemBoost.com does not encourage or promote vote exchange between users of Steemit, it only connects writers with readers. It is up to readers if they like what they find to vote for it or not, to leave a comment or maybe even follow the poster!
The first statistics of the website
Today, SteemBoost.com has 123 unique registered users. A total of 4330 Boost Points have been released in the system and used to promote 154 Steemit Posts.
The live launch was a good opportunity for techie users to discover bugs and to trick in many different ways our original point system. Many succeeded, and earned a lot of points. We called this “The bugs discovery bonus” . Thank you guys for helping us improving the system! You can keep the points and use them to promote your great posts.
Live usage also created one conclusion about the Facebook Sharing: People don’t like it! Users will rather stay with sharing inside of Steemit community than share their link outside of it.
Presenting the SteemBoost Bot Beta 0.1
The most reported problem of the website by now was the verification of the reading. How can one user be sure that his promoted post was actually visited and read by others? In the first version of our system the points were deducted but the promoter had no idea if the users were really reading or just clicking the links to obtain points. To be honest we wanted to give away some points for real users to be motivated to test our system and to create the minimum points economy of the website.
We have now the solution. The tool that solves our problem is The SteemBoost Bot Beta 0.1. This bot is scanning on Steemit.com once per hour the promoted posts and is searching for reading confirmations. The only non invasive verification method we found was to look for one specific expression in the comment zone that can prove that another SteemBoost user visited that post. When the bot will find that expression, it will increase the reader Steem point balance with 1 point and decrease with 2 points the promoter account.
Users will not be able to cheat our point system anymore...
If you want the free points, you have to visit the promoted post and leave your verification in the comment zone! If you don’t want to get the point, you just read and discover another great steemit promoted post. If you like the post you can vote, comment or follow the user but you will not be rewarded with 1 Boost Point if your message does not contain the verification expression.
Important improvements in this update:
- Added SteemBoost Bot Beta 0.1 – The verification bot that will be now the Boost Points manager. To validate one read, the reader must comment on the Steemit visited post any comment containing SB:username (where username is his SteemBost.com name used at registration)
Please be aware: Using this feature a lot can get you flagged by some users for commenting spam! You can avoid being flagged by including it only in rich content related comments and by not abusing it!
- Removed the Facebook Sharing (users reported that it had no real contribution to post promotion and many users were sharing links on fake accounts just for draining points)
- You can promote only one Stemit link from your account. Your link will be manually approved by the SteemBoost team and will be published in the Steem Booster list if you have minimum 50 Boost Points in your account.
- The reader can be rewarded just one time with 1 Boost Point for reading one promoted link only after the SteemBoost Bot will discover his message containing SB:username on the Steemit website. SteemBoost Bot will substract 2 Boost Points from the promoter account for every confirmed visit.
- As an incentive for users to obtain more Boost Points, The Steem Booster list will sort the active links by the number of the poster accounts owned points from high to low. The user with the most boost points in his account will have the first link on the list.
- New accounts will get 5 Boost Points at sign up. For each successful referred new member, the user will receive 100 Boost Points (we hope this will make users use more their referral link to grow the website user number)
- You can now buy 100 Boost Points for 10 Steem Dollars and pay using the new Steempay system. This way you can start boosting your link in minutes. All the payments are recorded in our wallet!
