Three Sleeps To SteemCampUK

I just sent this message out (minus the gif - who needs that in their mailbox?) to the people who've booked via eventbrite.

Dear SteemCampers!

We're meeting on Saturday at Impact Hub. I'm excited about the potential of the day and I can see from the blogs that other people are too!

The day is about exploring and sharing with others the potential of this whole STEEM ecosystem to change all our lives and deciding what we might do, together and individually for the greatest good.

What better way could you have to spend a spring Saturday in Birmingham?

Before you come, do take another look at the shape of the day.

Thank you all for your contributions to the money pot. Please do also upvote any posts on the @steemcampuk account as generously as you can afford and encourage others to do so too. I think, we really ought to be able to finance the whole thing from the reward pool - this is my main learning for next time, more posts and post-promotion.

There will be tea and coffee and water available all day. You can help the venue and the environment generally by bringing your own cup, mug or other preferred drinking receptacle and re-using it throughout the day.

We are not able to provide lunctime food without raising the cost significantly. So please bring some of the things that you like to eat and something extra for a sharing table. There are a couple of corner-shop type places nearby but I recommend not waiting until you're hangry before going out to explore the limited choices (yeah, thanks Dad!)

It won't be the longest conference day you've experienced, but bits of it might feel intense. Pace yourselves and please be respectful of other's needs for occasional quiet and solitude between bouts of irrational exuberance. We're here to have fun in all the diverse ways we can.

Bring whatever devices and chargers you'll need to make cool stuff about what we're doing. The wifi is good, but let's stretch it to it's limits, eh?

Of the twenty or so people coming, there are a few who I know well already and two or three others I've met once before. We may start the day as strangers, but I'm full of hope that we'll end as colleagues and collaborators from which friendships will bloom.

See you Saturday. Don't forget your lunch and drinking receptacle.

Much love to all

Lloyd

PS If you're not quite clear yet on the details of getting to and from the Hub, there are great instructions on their website.

PPS We'll still have room for more people, don't be afraid to give someone a prod if you think they might be sitting on the fence.
