WE SHOULD NOT BE ASHAMED OF THE WORD OF GOD
We are being reminded of commodities to which we are accustomed that are scarce.
There are two things that are becoming scarce;moral courage and convection of the truth.Jesus christ had both -he feared nothing and nobody.Even His enemies observed it was impossible to scare Him with threats of any kind.He just went about His duty regardless of the cost.
One of the characteristics of the early christians was that they were bold and courageous.
This was plainly seen at the first trail of the disciple following his resurrection. Act 4:13"now when they saw the boldness.....etc"The enemy said "they act like Jesus christ"
An now our text shows us another man who had been with Jesus and was not ashamed of it.
- The gosple is the dynamite power of God.
- Paul was ready to preach it to any city and any culture and any society.
- May #steemchurch help us to have moral courage and conviction of truth.
We are discussing four sub-topics here. Namely;
- Paul was a great scholar and more
- Paul was not ashamed to let the whole intellect world know that he believed the gosple.
- I suppose there is no more powerful weapon than that of ridicule.(None of us like it)
- Remember the greatest minds of all ages.
PAUL WAS A GREAT SCHOLAR AND MORE
All his intellectual power had been trained,disciplined and developed to the maximum.His enemies said "much learning has made him...etc in Acts 26:24.But Paul never apologized for yeilding heart and intellect to the revelation of Jesus Christ.
PAUL WAS NOT ASHAMED TO LET THE WHOLE INTELLECTUAL WORLD KNOW THAT HE BELIEVED THE GOSPLE.
To him it was the wisdom of God.
23 but we preach the Messiah crucified. He is a stumbling block to Jews and nonsense to gentiles,
24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, the Messiah is God’s power and God’s wisdom.
He was saying to the cultured Greeks "if you want to be wise ,try your mental powers on the gosple and discover the wisdom of God."
I SUPPOSE THERE IS NO MORE POWERFUL WEAPON THAN THAT OF THE RIDICULE.(NONE OF US LIKE IT)
How many have been laughed out of their faith or at least into suppression of it-fearful to confess it,lest somebody think they were old fashion and narrow-minded?
Remember people can be laughed into hell but not out of it.
As beleiver and followers of #steemchurch let us not be ashamed of the gosple-if you meet some teachers who struts around as though he or she knew a great deal amd laugh at the gosple.
REMEMBER ,THE GREATEST MINDS OF ALL AGES.
Remember the greatest minds of all ages were and are on the side of faith.
And if we are not ashamed of Him.He will never be ashamed of us.Remember this...no human soul has ever lost anything of valve by putting Jesus first.Put him first amd keep Him first in your life.
We will not be ashamed of Him here and for sure never be ashamed of Him hereafter.
