Steam Creators Conference - Friday Afternoon
It is Monday evening and we just arrived home from the Steem Creators Conference in Las Vegas - days well spent. It is hard to believe that we connected with so many Steemians on such a deep level - in only three days.
So many Steemians had traveled from all over the US to present and share their knowledge that my head is so full of information that I better get it all written down and posted so I can share it with you all.
If you are from the San Diego area - let me know in the comments a good day for a local meetup to share the conference highlights!

The Muse Project
Muse Project -- Carly @ogc, Lindsey, Sara Miller @saramiller, Shellie @everlove, Lea @coruscate, Lindsey Lambz @Lindseylambz
You probably know all or at least some of these ladies from their own accounts. Each one of them is a powerhouse on this platform. Here, they are coming together for this project with big plans.
The Muse Project will not only give artists and creatives a place to shine but part of the profits of the profile will go to a fund designed to help creators.
For example, if a Steemian needs a camera to create better posts, they will be able to apply for funds to purchase one and then agree to support the project - to pay it forward to the next person in need of funds.
The focus is on empowering women on this platform.
This is a brand new project and details will need to be decided upon.
Make sure to follow the @museproject. Donations and delegations are more than welcome.
The Law of Attraction
Now, let me introduce you to Larry Morrison @larrymorrison
He is one of the hardworking team that put the conference together in just 100 days. Larry, I.J. Maha @steemcafe, and Carly @ogc are the magical team. A huge shout out to you all!!!
Larry was on stage, in flip flops, to talk to us about the law of attraction. If you are not familiar with this topic, I highly recommend for you to check it out.
In short and in a very simplistic statement: We attract that into our lives what we focus on.
This is super simplified! The law of attraction deserves some deeper attention and you would still be here tomorrow reading a never-ending post if I try to explain it all. The good news is that all the sessions were filmed and will be little by little released through the @steemcafe account. Then, you can hear for yourself what Larry shared with us.
Why did I mention Larry's flip-flops?
Because that is what he likes to wear.
Not shoes.
Flip-flops every day and all the time.
And guess what. Larry created a successful business that enables him to wear --- flip-flops all day long!!

Photography --Scott Thompson @scottshots
What a session!! If you all you could have come to was Scott's session, you would have felt that your ticket was money well spent!!
Scott is a professional photographer and makes his home in Tahoe. As you can see, he brought many of his photos to illustrate the different techniques he was sharing with us.
Of course, he also brought his big camera and one tool he thinks all of us need to invest in - a tripod. He promised us that if we give working with a tripod a go, we will start seeing the world differently than the quick snapshot photographer.
The tripod forces us to take a bit more time and start seeing maybe more details or a different way of framing the photo. A recurring advice was to have fun - to try things out. For long exposures, the tripod is a must!!
Light is another important ingredient for a good photo.
Scott was prepared to give us smartphone photographers some hope advice as well.
This is a light that can be attached to a smartphone. He suggested to attach it to the body of the phone, not around the lens for better results.
Another pro tip: Clean the lens of your phone before taking your pictures - duh!!!
Filters are another great tool to achieve better quality in your photos.
Let's not forget to edit!!! Scott suggested to always edit - at least a little. Just open a photo editing program of your choice and start playing with the edit option. See what it does and stop when you like the results.
That, even I can handle!
Here are a couple of photos of his photo display.
This one, I cropped to remove extra wall space and such and adjusted the brightness.
On this one, I also added a filter. Quite a difference, right?
After the presentation, we all wanted to check out all the goodies Scott had brought for us. Even though it was already 4 PM and the conference officially over for the day, Scott had invited us to meet by the pool area for some hands-on practice.
He had shown us some light reflectors and we were going to put them to use while taking some selfies.
Joseph Savage @josephsavage, the creator of SBI @steembasicincome, is taking a selfie with the white light reflector. Pretty bright!!!
Brandon Parker @happymoneyman swears that the silver side was almost blinding.
Now, it was my turn. Scott had shown us how to frame a picture. Look for lines and for a frame, he said. This walkway is a perfect example.
See the walkway leading the eye towards the roof and colums which are an ideal frame.
The first photo was without any light reflector.
See what a great student I am? Instead of having a nice frame, I have palms growing out of my head!!!
Well, here is the next one with the white reflector.
I think the light is nicer on my face - but it didn't help with the palm situation.
And now comes the silver light reflector.
Can you see the difference?
I can see that I do need to learn how to edit more so I can get rid of head palms and all those wrinkles!!
This little lens case seems like a steal at around $ 30. It is for smartphones and even has a telephoto lens!
We all stayed for a long time experimenting and talking. But finally, we all got ready to explore a bit of the famous Vegas nightlife.
Leaving the Hotel.
At the High Roller having fun!
