[Steemit DIP] 1. API Endpoint Project (Progress Report)

Dear Steemit Community,

It has been a while since we provided a DIP(Development Incentive Program) project update. While there were not that many official postings, it does not mean that there was nothing going on.

In fact, it’s quite the opposite! We were busy discussing which projects will benefit Steemians the most and developing many projects simultaneously.

Let’s kick off with the first DIP project that is already in full swing:

the API Endpoint project.

I. Summary of the API Endpoint Project

The API Endpoint will provide a list of available API endpoints so that users may save/load drafts and use templates, and also load comments separately from the main post content.
For more details, please see the API Endpoint work prep article from @upvu.witness.

II. Team Introduction

The development team is @upvu.witness, a long-time Steem top witness. @realmankwon and @happyberrysboy are two developers who started the upvu witness node. For the API project, a total of four active developers (two aforementioned upvu main developers and two more junior developers from @nodehub) will work together.
Note that the ultimate goal of @upvu.witness is to grow the Steem developer pool by incubating and working together with new developers so that they get more interested in the Steem ecosystem and eventually become core Steem developers and witnesses.

III. Roadmap

For the first three weeks, the team will collect the data, check existing codes, and implement API endpoint selection.
Note that the team already started the first part of the roadmap and collected lots of data.
From week 4 to 6, draft and template infrastructure will be built and user verification function will be developed. For the last remaining two weeks, the team will work on the loading comments feature and wrap up the development progress so that the community members may utilize both the result and the process.
For more details, please see the API Endpoint work prep article from @upvu.witness

IV. Request for Witnesses

We believe that strong support from witnesses may ensure the success of the first DIP project.
To keep necessary information up to date, the development team asks all Steem witnesses to update their API endpoint information. In line with the request, @dip.team urge all witnesses to update and share their API endpoint information by writing a reply to the project announcement post.

V. Next Steps

Following the launch of the first project (API endpoint), the other two selected initiatives will begin soon.

Stay tuned for the next update!
