I must admit, I am rather jealous of all you steemians that are attending the Amsterdam steemfest meet up! I have stated before that I lived in Amsterdam from 1987 to 1995 when I was a young record producer specializing in early electronic dance music with my music production partner at the time; Paul Oakenfold.
I was working with a number of artists in Amsterdam that you've never heard of and some you have. Like Lenny Kravitz, Billy Ocean, George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Tangerine Dream, Aqua, Boy George, Bros, Dani Clark, Zon, Juan Wells, Gino Lightner and many more... ahhh the memories. Some are still part of the music scene there. Like Juan and Gino.

I had a recording studio and lived in a 3 story flat on Hartenstraat near the Centurm and around the corner from the location of Ann Franks house. It was a heady time. I moved into that flat in 1987 when I co-founded the label 5th World Records with an incredible soul who became an amazing writer. He still lives in Amsterdam. And please note what is hanging on the wall...that's right! A cowboy hat... I wore them even back then!

In the photo above that system in the far left bottom corner is a Fairlight CMI 2. One of the very first computer musical instruments in Europe. This was way before any of the systems of today existed. Google it LOL.

These are the only photos from that era I have access to at the moment as I am on the road in production for my Where Eagles Fly project. I wanted to share these with you folks because my memories of living there are stunning. It truly was an amazing place with really wonderful people and an amazing sense of being.
This is Dani Clark and I - She's a very cool artist and sister to Alain Clark
The beautiful lady in the photo above was my s.o. for a decade. We worked on a lot of amazing music together and if you want to hear a couple of our co-compositions go here and here. These were recorded a loooong time ago LOL. I am still very much close friends to both Dani and her family so If you see any of them say hello LOL! That should be awkward as all get out!!
By the way, my nom de guerre back then was Zeo... :) George Clinton gave me the nickname... it stood for "Zedekiah the Enlightened One".
And this last image... this is in front of one of our label headquarters at the time. I used to cruise from here out to the harbor and miles inland all around Holland. I loved it!!!
