3️⃣-2️⃣-1️⃣-Steemfest! It's Getting Serious: Rehearsing My Presentation

The game doesn't duplicate a real-life situation, but it comes close enough to give you knowledge and courage. - Steven Greene

Nicely said, Steven.

So here I am: trying to come close to THAT real-life situation.

As @roelandp announced in his latest steemfest update the event is coming closer and closer. I bet he's currently the busiest person in this community, even though everybody who's going to be involved in the schedule might be sweating right now :-)

In only two days I will catch my flight to Lisbon which seems completely unreal.

Can you hear my heart beating? :-)

The countdown has started: 3️⃣-2️⃣-1️⃣-Steemfest!

It doesn't matter how often you rehearse a scene, when you go on stage everything will be completely different.

Yet, the training at home provides you with a good portion of confidence and it will also calm you down when the time has come. Repeating a speech over and over again also helps you to feel it and not just memorize words.

That's at least the plan :-)

I would have loved to surf today in order to blow away the cobwebs, but the Ocean in front of my local spot is flat like a plate.

To distract me from my excitement I designed a new banner for my blog, aiming to match it with the new chic and clean facelift the steemit UI experienced a couple of days ago. I hope you like it? :-)

Yet, nothing is actually able to distract me from the upcoming event.

Yesterday I finetuned my presentation and exported the video I'm going to show.

Furthermore, I prepared my laptop (incl. finding a solution for some technical issues), printed out some record cards, installed the 'presenter' (remote control) and started to pack my bag.

The weather forecast is quite confusing to me, so I 've actually no idea what kind of clothes to take with me. In the end I decided on packing a decent range in able to be prepared for whatever circumstances. Now my hand luggage is almost exploding - lol.

Today's morning I checked in my flights and printed out my steemfest ticket.

I think I'm ready... at least on the operational level, haha!

Probably the best way to prepare yourself for an extreme situation is: to be dying to live it :-)

I really can't wait to be there.

In less than 48 hours I will catch my flight to Lisbon (including a short stopover in Madrid).

Right now I'm quite relaxed since I got everything done in time. But I can only imagine how I'm going to feel on the 1st of November.

It's going to be overwhelming to personally meet the people I've been in contact with via steemit for more than one year now.

When you wait for something and then it finally takes place, usually it feels completely unreal. A lot of hugs will be needed to bring me back down to Earth :-)

Cant't wait to see you there,

Marly -

PS: Save the date: 2nd + 3rd of November! Also bookmark this link to the livestream: youtube.com/steemfest. More information from the steemian @shourai who will produce the livestream can be also found HERE.
