This review is based on my personal collection of information at the restaurant as well as some reference to its website and Facebook Page
You will be taken a virtual tour of this restaurant from this point onward. Please feel free to scroll the screen with your mouse if you are on a PC or on your smartphone.
Let's Begin your virtual tour, shall we?
The unique selling preposition of Nam Heong Ipoh Damen is the Chinese style food variety and a family like ambient. Please watch a 20 seconds video that shown how the robotic waitress serves food. It was introduced recently and it has attracted many anxious customer to witness it. Children are typically like to follow along this robotic waitress whenever it deliver the food.
Another crowd pulling strategy is their popular egg tart which is considered one of the best in town. You can see customers are queuing up to buy the newly baked egg tart during promotion time. Other menu for happy hours are display clearly .
I ordered one of the happy hour menu, chee cheong fun come with drink of your choice as listed. It cost RM7.00 per set per serving. The portion is just nice for a brunch or just take it as a snack during the happy hour..
But no matter how popular it is, the texture is no way to compare those in Ipoh which has a soft and tender texture available in Ipoh. It is not proven but here has been reviews stated that Ipoh water source has to do with the quality of chee cheong fun produced in Ipoh.
Besides the happy hour menu, there is a month surprise package which I have not tried before. Accordingly to the menu, it is
Next popular Ipoh dish is none other than the sar ho fun with shred chicken or the Wan Tan Mee with barbecue pork. Next in line to try is the Chicken rice either the plain chicken or roasted chicken. I have tasted all the above mentioned cuisines with a group of classmates several months ago. I do dropped by this restaurant once a while as I often visit this mall.
Do be warned though, it is normally a long queue during peak hours especial on weekends and public holiday. Its attraction is encouraged by its reasonable priced in a shopping mall standard. Customers like to bring their guest to this restaurant as there are plenty of variety to choose from. When you have enough headcount, you are like eating in Ipoh town because you can order more variety of food.
There are other options in the happy hour menu too. If you like to taste the popular egg tart or the steam Hainan bread or Tim Sum. All are popular Ipoh Chinese Coffee Shop cuisines. If you live around Damen Shopping Mall, it is worth a trip to test all the varieties if you came in a group or alone.
If you like to eat pork, it has one of the popular dish, the Braised Pork of the Song Dynasty (宋朝时代的东坡肉 )as indicated in the picture.
