#feedme - Events to Earn Upvotes and SBD!

Some months ago, I wrote a post talking about some community events where we can promote our posts, get a few extra upvotes, and even earn SBD or win a share of @steembasicincome. Recently, I've found a few more events, especially interesting to smaller fish.

Feed Your Minnows

An initiative by @oleg326756, which shares all SBD earned by the event's post with all followers who leave a comment with the "#MinnowsFeed" hashtag (or the "cashtag," as Oleg calls it!). Upvoting the post is optional, but recommended in order to increase the SBD to be distributed at the end.

The event happens every week. To find the link to the currently ongoing event, visit @oleg326756's profile and look for a post with, "Feed Your Minnows Series, Episode X," in the title, where "X" is the episode number.

Feed Your Minnows BOT

This event gives out upvotes instead of SBD. This variation of "Feed Your Minnows" is actually automated, and uses the @feedyourminnows bot, created by @scrooger, the same person behind @qurator. The event takes place every week. Everyone who registers for the event will get one upvote a day on their posts for one week, beginning from the time the registrations' post reaches payout. The bot is still a little small, and its upvotes are currently worth around $0.02. The rules to register are also a bit different:

  • Check the event's post to know when the registrations end (which is when the upvotes start). To find the ongoing registrations post, visit @scrooger's profile and look for a post with "Feed Your Minnows BOT - FREE UPVOTE GIVEAWAY - Season X Registration" in the title (where "X" is the number).
  • Upvote the event's post with at least a $0.01 upvote, or a 100% upvote if your vote isn't worth $0.01 yet.
  • Send any amount to @feedyourminnows, with "feedme" as the memo. It may be any amount, even $0.001 SBD (the amount gotten from the registrations is used for getting more SP and increasing the bot's upvote value).
  • Once the registrations' post reaches payout (7 days after publishing), you'll be added to the list to receive the bot's upvotes for one week. If you want to continue receiving upvotes after that week passes, you'll have to register again to the later events.

Those who want bigger upvotes and are willing to pay 4 STEEM one time may consider this bot's big brother, @qurator. Qurator currently has a one-time entry fee of 4 STEEM. It has a bigger community, provides upvotes and help with post promotion, and also hosts other events. If you still aren't a member and decide to join, be sure to read the rules first!

Feed Your Minnows Upvotes Giveaway

Another initiative by @oleg326756, but which gives upvotes, similar to the event with the bot. The rules are a bit more involved. To enter, you must:

  • Resteem the giveaway's post.
  • Write a post containing "#feedme" in the title, and using "feedme" as one of the tags (it doesn't need to be the first tag). (and now you know why my post has "#feedme" in the title :P )
  • Send any amount (can be 0.001 STEEM or SBD) to @oleg326756, with "feedme" and the link to your post in the memo. You can get upvotes on more than one post, as long as you send a wallet message for each one.

Aside from the upvotes, this event has another big attraction. One steemian is randomly picked to win lifetime upvotes from @feedyourminnows (the bot from the other event mentioned above)! To enter the raffle, you must upvote both this event's post and the registration post to @scrooger's event, then leave a comment with the "#feedme" hashtag. Raffles happen every week.

To find the current ongoing event, visit @oleg326756's profile and look for a post with "Feed Your Minnows Upvotes Giveaway" and "Episode X" in the title, where "X" is the episode number.

Steemit Faucet

I found this one thanks to this post by @fitinfun. It's an initiative by @sydesjokes. It distributes the SBD earned from the event's post to everyone who upvotes and leaves a joke or motivational quote in the comments.

One thing to note is that payments are only made to those who accumulated at least $0.300 SBD in pending payouts. This reduces the number of minuscule transactions, and encourages frequent participation to accumulate more SBD.

To find the ongoing event, visit @sydesjokes' profile and look for a post with "Faucet post" and "**FAUCET OPEN**" in the title.

SBD DISTRO

Another event that shares all the SBD earned from the post. This one is easy to take part in. Just visit @ubasti's profile, upvote the post with "[giveaway]SBD DISTRO #X" (you know the drill about the "X"), and that's it! There's usually a new post every day, and the SBD is distributed once the post reaches payout, and if at the time of distribution you have a post newer than 7 days, you may be randomly picked to receive an upvote. The only downside to this event is that the account is still small, and so are the upvotes of most participants, which means dividing the rewards with everyone makes for very small payments. But it's a start. Whenever you have an extra upvote to spare, you may consider giving this event a hand and help increase the shares for everyone participating!

Free Upvote Contest

A contest by @achim03, which gets you an upvote and a chance to win a @steembasicincome share. To enter, upvote the post and leave a link to one of your posts in the comments to receive an upvote worth around $0.03. Your post must have at least 150 words, at least one image (cite the source, obviously), and must be in English. You receive an upvote at the same percentage you upvoted the contest post. So, if you want a 100% upvote, you must upvote the contest post at 100% too!

At the end of the contest, everyone who participated enters a draw to win a @steembasicincome share (people who resteem the contest post get one extra chance). (I've been taking part mostly for the upvotes, as I rarely get lucky with draws and raffles, but who knows...)

To find the latest contest, visit @achim03's profile and look for a post with "Free Upvote Contest - week X" in the title. There isn't a contest going on at the moment of writing, so keep an eye out for the next one!

There are a few other contests such as lotteries/raffles, but I don't take part in those much because I rarely get lucky with raffles (as I already mentioned). So, this is it for now. If anyone knows of more events like these (preferably not lotteries/raffles), please share in the comments!
