The day you joined Steemit, you took on all sorts of new roles in life. The ball is in your court now..

The Steemit paradigm is very unique. The day you joined Steemit, you entered a symbiotic relationship with Steemit and other Steemians. You can imagine Steemit as a huge undulating, online magazine, which you have a stake in. How you approach Steemit is entirely your choice, but in other ways, you are all of the following five things:

An Investor

Whether you've bought STEEM, created content, or both, it's in your interest that Steemit succeeds. The more successful Steemit becomes, the higher the value of STEEM, the higher rewards for you, and the higher value of your account.

A Speculator

If STEEM went to five cent tomorrow, it would probably be wise to buy a ton of it. Likewise, if the value of STEEM went to 1000 dollars, you might want to power down some of that stash. The more important figure is the point in the middle where you decide whether you should buy STEEM, do nothing, or power down.

An Editor

Every time you vote, or flag, you're having your say about what content deserves more attention, or less as the case may be.

A Content Creator / Blogger

Even if all you've posted was an intro, you've created content and had an effect on the value of Steemit/STEEM. You also stand a chance of earning rewards. Clearly the rewards are potentially huge, so lots of great content is constantly being added.

An Advertiser

While not strictly necessary, Steemit gives you the opportunity to purchase the attention of others, via the "promoted" section. Some users are already using this feature to great effect, buying extra attention, and in turn, followers and rewards.

So we all have power and responsibility. Remember, we're all in this together. Let's create the good stuff. Let's reward the good stuff, and don't let low value spam or copypasta gain a foothold. Stay strong, and STEEM ON!
