Here on Steemit there are some great initiatives that help get deserving authors noticed. Some of my favourite include

There are many swimming around Steemit quietly upvoting, commenting and offering encouragement, helping to make Steemit better.

Good Habits
In the last two weeks I have also proposed several other good habits which I am trying to get into.
When I log in head over to "#introduceyourself# to welcome a few new authors and find some interesting people to follow
I also head over to a few tags that interest me and read and comment on them to promote areas of interest for me here on Steemit.
Join me and develop a few habits that take just 5 minutes each time you log on.
