Burgers, Beers and Bitcoin at the Room 77 in Berlin

Hi Steemians,

oldschool Bitcoin enthusiasts will all know the legendary Room 77 in Berlin Kreuzberg, famous for its burgers and for the fact that it had been one of the very first brick and mortar venues to accept Bitcoin. In an industry where a day feels like a week and a week like a month, years feels like decades, and there is hardly any better place to feel Cryptonostalgia than a place Coindesk described like this, already more than two years ago:

"These days you won't have any problems spending your bitcoins. You can book flights, buy apartmentsand eat and drink your way through most of the world's major cities. But three years ago things were different. Then you had to fly to Berlin and make your way to a small bar in the city’s Kreuzberg district if you wanted to spend bitcoins. Room 77 in the German capital is celebrating three years of accepting the cryptocurrency. The exact date is not really clear but the owner of the bar, Joerg Platzer, approximated that it was around May 2011 that he accepted the first bitcoin transaction for a beer.Unless challenged, he will continue to claim that it was the world's first purchase with the digital currency in a shop, restaurant or bar."

Every first thursday of a month, Room77 hosts the monthly Bitcoin Meetup, where Crypto-Fans from all over the world meet, network and have a good time.

As I`m going to be there once again in two days, I thought I was going to discuss Steemit with some of the folks there and that it would make it much easier for me to overcome their scepticism if I paid them a beer with SBD earned through this post. So I`m going to convert every SBD I get to Bitcoin on Poloniex and then send it to this address:

I will spend every single Satoshi on beers and burgers for people at Room77 - and then blog about it. Of course I`ll use my Android Schildbach wallet, as Andreas, the dev, is likely to be there as well :-)

So please Steemians, let the beer flow! And if by any chance anyone is in Berlin right now, come to see us at Room77!
