We’re closing in on an incredible year in crypto. This year our industry made news for all kinds of things. Steemit has grown quite well in the same timeframe with users in the hundred of thousand. I hope we can reach our first million users within another month or two at Steemit.
If you’ve been around on Steemit.Chat you may have noticed it getting busier and there a lot more names using our favourite chat platform today than when we started over a year ago. Steemit chat has 40000 users today with one more day to go before we cross over into 2018.
Steemit chat continues to remain a good place to talk directly to other Steemians and users of our Steem blockchain. It’s a great place to make new online friends, collaborate on projects, share your content amongst other things.
We’ve grown steadily since Steemfest and have added approximately 5000 new users in the past 3 weeks alone. I wonder when we’d hit 100K users on the platform but I reckon that it won’t take very long to get there if Steemit and all the apps built on the Steem blockchain continue growing.
Feel free to reach out to me if you need any assistance in setting up channels, groups, account related issues etc.
@zararina has written a post on using Steemit.Chat if you are new. Check it out here!
It's linked from the Steemit Menu and all you need to do is signup with the same username that you use on Steemit, create a new password and you are good to go.
If you are facing any issues on Steemit or Steemit.Chat we have a very active Help channel moderated by well known Steemians to assist you.
In case you face any phishing attempt you are welcome to DM me or other active admins: @pfunk and @gandalf.
There's a lot of things you can do on the platform. You can build your community, be part of an existing community or have a group chat.
You can find and direct message any user on Steemit.Chat but try not spam them with your links when you use this feature. There's also an option to have OTR (Off-The Record) private conversations via Direct Messages where your chat gets encrypted when you end it. It's also very secure.
Win SBDs in Weekly Contests!
I'm also running the official weekly contest for Steemit.Chat users in the Steemit.Chat Contest Channel. You can head over there and checked the pinned post for the latest update on contest and win some free SBDs.
I want to take this opportunity to thank @riverhead for ensuring this project continues into the next year. @gandalf for assisting us with our servers and helping keep phishers and scammers away. @pfunk and our volunteer moderators in key channels for their assistance with user moderation!
See you on Steemit.Chat and Happy Holidays everyone!
