If you are reading this, I wanted to say Thank You! It has been an eventful week for me on Steemit. One in which I have probably had a lot less sleep and spent a lot more time at my computer, being so excited by this platform.
πThe highlights so far for me in this wonderful world of Steemit have been: π
π¬ 1. The Communityπ―
I have connected with some really nice people during my short time here, who have supported me and helped me. Thankyou to people like @Vinnu, @Kryptoknightk @dontstopmenow @princessmewmew and @gingerninja who have helped me, kept up with my posts and given me words of encouragement, like these, that make me feel all warm and fluffy inside:
Shout out also to @decentralized who has also encouraged me, said nice things to my husband, and sent a few randowhale votes my way when I first started, which I was so excited by.
π 2. Getting in Touch With My Creative Side π‘
Steemit is an eclectic place where you can write about pretty much anything. I entered a poetry contest this week, which was great. I sat down thinking, this will be weird but lets give it a go, and I had so much fun. Here is an excerpt of my poem, if you want to read the whole thing you can go here:
π 3. Making My Husband Proud π
My husband @rlamasb is really into crypto and all of that cool geeky stuff, which I have never really been into. I recently bought some crypto just over a month ago because he wouldn't stop talking about how great it was, and now I have seen the benefits. I like blogging, he likes crypto, Steemit is basically the lovechild of those two things, so really this has been a perfect thing for us to bond over. I have also learnt a lot about crypto, and want to continue to gain more knowledge through reading your guys posts and watching videos on here.
π₯ 4. Seeing My Posts Do Well π₯
I put this highlight last because it's not all about the money, despite the fact that I used a clickbait title talking about how one of my posts made $400. Well, almost... $393 haha
This post only did so well because I took some inspo from @Decentralizd's post about Streemian and also because I won a 100% whale vote on a newbie contest (not the poetry one lol), so I don't expect another $393 post anytime soon!
Obviously not every post will make money, and that's not what blogging is about. Sometimes I just want to share a blurry picture of my dog, or talk about how excited I am about something. I am not thinking about how can I make some money, because I have a regular job for that. But Steemit has become this cool little computer game that I love to play during the day at work and in my free time, and of course it is super exciting to see your posts doing well.
Any tips I have I try and share with you guys in my Steemit How To posts, and I will continue to do that as we all grown and learn together
Honestly one of the most rewarding things for me is the comments I get back on a post, rather than the $ value. I love hearing that you guys have read what I've written, or a guide that I put up has helped you in some way.
What have been your highlights of Steemit so far? I challenge my fellow newbie friends to make their own highlights of their first week on Steemit! π Thanks again for reading, following, upvoting and resteeming when you do, it makes me so happy!
