Dear Steemians
I've been talking about followers in my last couple of posts and not only that, you've most likely read other posts about followers and the importance of a follower-base during these last few days too.

Followers have and always will be one of the most important things in business, but obviously on Social Media and on Steemit too. - Just take a quick look at;
- Selena Gomez - 121 million followers on Instagram.
- PewDiePie - 55,1 million subscribers on YouTube.
- Lirik - 1,6 millions followers on Twitch.
And on Steemit:
- Stellabelle - 2400+ followers.
Note: There's probably several other amazing Steemians out there with more or similar amounts of followers, but I chose to go with Stellabelle. Make sure to follow her if you haven't already!
Let's continue

- You've probably seen an image or a message like this somewhere, right?
Let me explain this in-depth for all of you..
Follow 4 follow is a decent way to get followers on Instagram for instance. Especially if you have a new account. You'll be able to get hundreds of new followers in minutes. If you do it properly. - However, I don't encourage people to do it on Steemit!

Let's take a leap of faith and dive right into this

Now, I'll give you a better understanding.. Or at least, I'll share some details and my own thoughts about this.. - After all, the best thing I can do right now is to back my words, right?
For starters, I'll share some details from my Steemit account:
- 419 followers at the time I'm writing this.
The next thing I'll show you is this:
- 401 followers and that post was from yesterday.
That's 18 new followers in one day.
- Pretty awesome results, don't you think?

It's vital to socialize and to talk with people.
As many of you already know, I've recently started to stream on Twitch and I've also recently started to share gaming related content here on Steemit.
I know there's a bunch of images & screenshots by now, but a picture is worth a thousand words.. So I'll share some more:
- That's from my Twitch channel.
- This is from my Steam Group.
And last but not least:
- This is from SEOClerks. A marketplace I work on.
With this being said..
- I know what I'm doing. At least I'm doing something right.
Hear me out fellow Steemians..
I still consider myself to be "seaweed" on Steemit. I still consider myself to be a "nobody", and I probably will do that for a very, very long time. No matter how many followers I get.
My potential rewards on this post or any future post won't change that either.. - And you know why?
- Because I need to see myself from that perspective.
I see myself as an "underdog", and I do it on purpose.. - In most things in life.
- And I do it because it gives me motivation!

Back at it again..
The results I showed you above.. They aren't insane, incredible or awesome in any way..
- I consider them to be good.
A quick note before I continue this long post: - I never compare my own results with others!
Let's continue..
I will ask you one simple question.
- Would you rather have tons of followers that doesn't interact with you or your content or only a handful of followers who gives a damn about you and your content?
If you have 1 follower who already follow 500 other people.. - What are the odds for that specific follower to read your post? - Slim to none.
If you follow 500 people, would you read all of their posts?
- Probably not.
And that's why "follow 4 follow" on Steemit is stupid!

We all know it.. Quantity is outstanding, but quality is even better.
You've probably seen the Trending page by now.. A quick peek and we can see posts with 500+, 600+ and 700+ votes. - Quantity.
However, these are not necessarily the posts with the highest potential rewards..
As you can see, the post with more votes have less potential reward.
So, let's call that quality.
- The post with less amounts of votes have more quality votes. - I hope you get my point?
Imagine this..
You visit Steemit and you're going through your feed. That's where all posts from the people you follow will show up.
- You see one post after the other..
You'll probably vote on a handful of them. - No one have the energy to go through all of them.
- Which also could be one of the factors for people to upvote posts that has lower quality than similar ones.. Due to lack of time. - Or energy. - Or both.
One of the reasons for things like that to happen, could be, because they follow hundreds of people...
They simply miss out on "the good stuff!"
