Just Thinking
Today I came across some post expressing concern about our platform. I know the author rewards have decreased significantly across the platform and we watch daily as the price of STEEM drops. Of course, many of us are concerned about this and hoping this trend stops in the very near future and the rewards return to at least a quarter of what they once were. Happy days again in steemland!
We are still in beta, as most know, and currently have community members working on projects to make steemit.com better for everyone. Increasing the value of the platform in many ways for current and future members. I want to post something positive and give more exposure to the two projects that I believe will add value to the platform.
My Vision
The past few months I have been fortunate to read a lot of interesting posts covering a broad topic range. We have been a trending community, as social networks tend to be, and that really started my thinking on how I would like to see the platform develop. Basically, I asked myself the question " What will keep me coming back, dedicating my time to steemit.com". A topic that I have an affinity for is e-commerce marketplaces. I would love to have an e-commerce community to discuss ideas and attract future members to it. An e-commerce community that I can be a part of, growing and adding value to. Something I can take ownership and be proud of.
SteemGuild and SteemTrail
Today, we had two projects introduced to steemit.com that will get me closer to having that e-commerce community I desire. Hopefully it will do the same for you and the interest you have on steemit.com. The way I see steemit.com right now is this large trending website, which is great! However, I believe we can make it better for everyone. We can attract interest of future members based on the topics they like and increase member engagement in the process. Just think, I can tell people how great our e-commerce community is on steemit.com, all the interesting and educational material available in content and discussion. We attract members by introducing them to the topics that interest them the most and not the steemit.com site necessarily. The rewards we receive from authoring and curating content is just extra incentive. Knowledge is the real reward.

I needed to express myself after reading some post. We are going in the right direction, and believe these two projects are being implemented at a great time while we are still in beta. I want to invite everyone to contribute to these projects and let's have some fun!
