The Steem heat is on!
There are plenty of cool little things you can do that can point people (or sheeple) in the right direction of Steemit.
Here are some of them. I will be using Steemit to post new ideas when they come to me. Please, do use any and all of these in any way you can and feel free to share anything I write with no restrictions whatsoever.
Ambush advertising
This idea can be used in an unlimited amount of ways. I will try to go through a few briefly with you now.
- Write your political blog/youtube/facebook/twitter/podcast/website/whatever on EVERY single bit of paper currency you get your hands on. When you get change in the shop (store) get as many note denominations as you can and write steemit.com or something else you find really cool ... like this note below ....
- Subtle spam ... it sounds bad, but its really not. It's not spam as such ... basically all you have to do is look for popular viral videos doing their rounds on the internet, facebook, youtube, twitter or whatever. Post a Steemit post either directly about that subject or related in some way in the comments section. You'll be surprised at how effective this can be! It's all about picking just the right video. People have a short attention span remember. They are sheeple.
Taking on Facebook disciples!
Now, a mixture of both the above could be used in any manner of ways. You could 'vandalise' all manner of items, building, facets and features with a Sharpie pen. Just write the url and/or slogan anywhere and everywhere you can!
Obviously don't be stupid and do it somewhere where people are or somewhere that could be on camera. That would just be dickhead thing to do ... not that I know from personal experience or anything ....
You could pay more attention to peoples conversations at public gathering places like bus stops, buses, train stops etc etc. If they are talking some complete nonsense about a Facebook issue, give them some Steemit advice on signing up instead ... gently correct their dumb Facebook ways in a very humble manner.
Gaining trust
If you can gain their trust as a Steemian and make them see something in a different light, they will almost certainly check out any Steemit link you give them. An added bonus would be that subconsciously they are more prepared to accept that they were originally wrong about that crappy ole' Facebook!
Its a minefield of bullshit that people have fallen prey to. You never know just how infected someone is with bullshit. One minute you can have their complete attention, the next minute they are running a mile because you said something you probably shouldn't have said without clearing other things up first.
Remember, be Steemit careful. Peoples minds can be extremely fragile. They have been conditioned to react this way to anti-Facebook information. Social conditioning and predictive programming are both running RAMPANT.
There is an unlimited amount of ways you can partake in a conversation. If you become good at communicating with people, it goes a long way for people to have trust in you! If you want someone to listen to you then they must trust you. You have to be humble, kind, and gentle.
Start with these little Steemit truths.. and remember, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't force it to drink.
