Steemit Feature Requests: "Selective Resteem" and "Turn Off Resteems From This User"

Have you ever wanted to resteem a great article, but shied away because you know a good portion of your followers might not care? Nobody wants to lose followers because of resteeming, but I'm sure that I've missed articles I would have liked because someone failed to pull the trigger.

Allowing a "Selective Resteem" option would give us the capability of selecting exactly which of our followers would receive the resteem in their feed. For example, if I find a fantastic sports article that hasn't got much attention, I could resteem that to @sevinwilson and @lydon.sipe, two of my followers that I know enjoy sports.

My other 200+ followers who may not enjoy sports as much would be none the wiser. I didn't share the article with as many people, but it probably had a net positive effect, other than taking me a couple seconds longer to perform.

Perhaps supplanting this idea or working in conjunction with it, we could also steal a feature from that 140-character service with the bird. If someone there gets a bit too excited with the retweets, you can simply check the "Turn off Retweets" option without unfollowing them altogether.

Adding a "Turn off Resteems" button next to the "Follow" and "Mute" options in their profile might be enough to encourage people to share more articles, knowing that if they are being too annoying that their followers can just turn off that feature.

Am I missing any downsides to either of these two potential features?
