One of the most amazing things about people and SteemIt in general is the idea of selflessness. The generosity of a few who work very hard for the right reasons. The many whales/investors who give delegations, large up votes and help smaller projects and minnows get their footing. Or even the many projects, groups, or even startup like companies who are building a community of giving back on SteemIt. Or at least starting on SteemIt as a stepping stone. I haven't written too much from my head lately, been all business as of late, and my goal with this piece is to:
-=- Give back to those that I see giving back -=-
So in this first article on Giving Back is about @buildawhale. There are many reasons that this project is amazing and the possibilities are endless. But the ways I see it helping the community is endless as well. Let me explain. Me and Team Epic (Community Casino) have something in common.
That is helping people and the community around us.
This could be the simplest things like up voting good content, supporting others in their dreams and aspirations, or even helping the homeless in our communities.
So what does this have to do with @buildawhale? Good question. The reason we, Team Epic, has engaged in working with @themarkymark and his project is because he has some of the same goals and motivations that we do. Community This is and will be a focus of my giving back posts for the future. Highlighting amazing community projects or people giving back to the community.
How can you support this project?
- First off Just find a piece of epic content and send 0.10-.50 SBD to @buildawhale with the URL of the epic content in the memo
- Then head over to @buildawhale and support the Curation Digest posts and support the authors within.
- Lastely, But most importantly, vote for @themarkymarkfor witness. He is the amazing mind behind this Giving Back project.
Because of this project and the connection to the community I decided to donate some steem power to @buildawhale. I donated only about 270 or so and for 4 weeks to start. The plan would be to find smaller project and help minnows out, especially those who are helping others.

P.S. The reason I decided to start this series yesterday was because of some memories that flooded back to me. I was in my kitchen looking at all the food I had. I thought back to just a couple years ago (less than 2 actually) and remembered how much of a struggle it was to have any food at all. I had been homeless and going through rough times. I have been in a time of need and I appreciate the people who are willing to give up what they have, sometimes the little that they have. Giving back is important. I care about everyone and wish I could help everyone. But I cannot. So my goal is try to help as many people as I can. One step at a time. Thank you for reading, especially if you kept going all the way to the bottom. Please keep in mind the times can be hard for people and know that by stepping up and helping someone can make the world of difference for them but wont hurt you much.
