As we've settled down on Discord we're now beginning to roll out some of the plans that we were thinking about while over at Slack. One of those plans is a re-working of how we choose the Steemian of the Week(SOTW). We want to drive more engagement and have a little fun with SOTW so we thought why not turn it into a competition?

Here is what we are going to do. Monday through Sunday we will be tracking the data of people who use the SteemitBC tag, upvotes, resteems, and comments on @steemitbc posts and assign points, see image below for an example. Then, every Tuesday @steemitbc will announce the rules to a contest for that week. On Sunday we will go through the results of the contest as well as the data for upvoting, commenting, etc. The top performer will then be awarded SOTW on Monday, along with 50SP delegated to them for the week. Each person will only be eligible to win once a month to give other's a chance.

As the @steemitbc account grows we will be increasing the rewards for winning SOTW as well! Until then we may have some generous members sweetening the rewards as well so keep an eye out for that.
