Who could have imagine a simple plan last October 1 would possibly turn into something worth to remember?

Who could ever thought every SBD's donated from Steemit users had inspired 150 lives?

Happy World Food Day everyone!

We are extremely thankful to everybody who has been part of this event. Without you, our plan will just remain a plan forever. First and foremost, to all the people who humbly donated, your SBDs are now a love and happiness in the form of lunch boxes and slippers.

The Plan

Each year, World Food Day is being celebrated around the globe. We see this as the perfect time to hold also an event that will serve as the very first outreach program. The goal is to feed 150 children of Mandaue City as beneficiaries.

The @steemph.cebu team was very busy lately to raise the funds for the event. We really need a substacial money to handle this big event. Thankfully, the target budget was met and blessed enough. We are so overwhelmed by the support of the community, and it paid off. The Good news is we still have some money left in our packet from the event, because we save some. We will use that one for our upcoming programs.

The Program

The venue was perfect. Thank you for the ultimate effort by the team, everyone collaborated and put their hearts out just for the event to be pushed. Kudos to all the people behind the successful event.

The program lasted 2 hours, from 10am to 12noon. It started with a prayer, led by girl who was their leader - Sarah. The event was fun, leaving those lovely kids happy and smiling.

Our Main event, Food Distribution

The lunch box were composed of a rice, fried chicken, lumpia and munchkin. It was cooked and packed with extreme effort and love of @queenjventurer and her mom. This would not have been possible without them. Juices were also included for this budget menu mean. We made sure everyone is fed and that we did not miss a single child.

Then comes the Giving of Slippers

Though it was messy at first, because the kids were very excited to get one. The Steemians and non - Steemian volunteers were able to neutralize them. Because the budget meets the target, we were able to have slippers aside from the lunches. This is for them to remember the Steemit community during the World Food Day.
