KC Summer Steemit Party- Loved it!

Being the new minnow that I am, I wasn't sure what to expect. I arrived to Loose park and right away saw my long-time friend @jessamynorchard pull up with @melodyrussell and @jasonrussell, fellow Ozarkian Steemians friends. We then found the Steem group hanging out in a nice shaded grassy spot eating some delicious food-provided by gracious host @stellabelle. I dove into introductions and conversations and tried my best to soak up the knowledge these Steemit experts were sharing. @stellabelle and @virtualgrowth blew me away with their experience, understanding, involvement, & insight into this virtual world and cryptocurrency. I SO enjoyed talking homesteading, gardening, kids, mushrooms, & goats with @clickinchicken, @gardengoat, & @fungusmonk! I told them my Mother's homesteading story (at 18 she bought land & built a house in the Ozarks with no electricity or running water).

And then, my Mom and Gramma showed up to hear Jessamyn Orchard play! So, I got to introduce her to these awesome new people I had just met. And now, my Mom is convinced Steemit is pretty great and will be signing up herself! Yay! Also, my wonderful Momma brought nametags and a sharpie at my request and that really helped me out A LOT in remembering who was who. I met @pierrefilms, who impressed us with his movie release date trivia knowledge. It was really great to hear folks talk about their journey out of the corporate world, out of mansions and into more sustainable living, homesteading, & homeschooling ( @bluerthangreen @pappapepper). Folks chatted and got to know one another better. I can only imagine that after forming bonds with each other on Steemit that many were catching up with old friends.


Then, Jessamyn sang and played her heart out on her acoustic guitar.

And my heart was happy.


Very much enjoyed meeting you all and am looking forward to reading, writing, learning, sharing, and further developing this awesome network together. Thank you for hosting and sharing your food and great knowledge, Stellabelle!! It was really great to meet everyone! @jacobts, @reedracer, @sykechica, @rebeccabe, @alfonsol003. Please let me know Jacobts, if I've accidentally left someone's out! Thanks for letting this newbie join the fun, get to know you a bit, and a get a better understanding of the Steem world!! Also, I'm really looking forward to the (much better quality than mine) photos @melodyrussell and @jasonrussell took of the meet up!
