The Steem Amplify Project for Content Creators — Let's get to that Million People!

i’m a ‘disrupter and a connector’ those were the words i would use every time i went to a conference. it’s still true today, i disrupt where i think things could be done differently, better, more optimised and i connect those awesome people together who might not natively have a bridge to each other. as an internet creator it makes sense then for me to connect some audiences together that don’t know about steemit just yet.

i remember how excited i was when i got on twitter for the first time in 2006. the only reason i'm still there is that twitter did one thing right, it had that first mover advantage, the community swelled around it as a point of contact, it's weathered the storm but now is looking very long in the tooth. it's kinda like an uncle you thought was dead but still turns up at the family weddings. it's kinda seen better days. i don't get any value from twitter anymore, it's white noise, link farms and i rarely get into any engagement there, in fact i'd go as far as to say that it's kinda lost that loving feeling.

most startups, websites and tools last a few years and then die or get aquired, twitter has held on in there because the marketers and engine behind it needs to bring in revenue. somehow twitter has managed to hold on. it's almost like a youtube in that you can't imagine an internet without it. but imagine we must. even thou a lot of good people i know i met and maintained for a while a level of comms there now it's like a ghost town. i feel the change coming. youtube have started changing the content matching for their advertisers, rules and regulations and well just look at the online world, we are heading to decentralization, i know communities are coming to steemit and so when they hit i'll be all into that.

in the last eight months i've found a new home here at steemit for blogging. it's the first site i check in the morning and i'm actively on the site throughout the day, it's becoming my new portal and that's huge. because of that i want to bring the people and content that i love here. it makes sense for those media makers to have an audience they can talk to that is not the usual dead zone of twitter or the raging troll space of youtube. steemit, well steemit is just better right now m'kay?

the st33m amplify project is an effort to bring vloggers, content creators, youtubers and to bring in general the bloggers of the world into steem and show them they can add steemit to their income streams and have a more open, ad-free experience and share the wealth of their own successes over here on the platform instead of a centralized blog that currently pays them little adsense or nothing at all.

i’ve created a few hours of content here on some of the topics that i think are important for a content creator to get started here on the platform. i won’t be able to edit this post after 7 days but if i do get requests for certain types of videos i’ll update the skillshare and udemy courses so if you feel inclined do grab one of the free passes or pay for the premium access to the course when you do the request — otherwise you can find all this content for free on youtube, dtube and viewly, giving this content some decentralised love! :)

amplifying how and to who?

so i’ve put together a list of niche places that i think we should be doing outreach too and i’m slowly putting together a list of people, ten at a time, creating steemit accounts for them, 6 steem (account cost creation) at a time (60 steem saving up, feel free to donate to me!) so that they have an account setup, login details and a link to this post and the courses so they have a good starting point instead of having to discover everything for themselves — think of it as the steemit fasttrack system if you will! :)

these are the eight areas i will be concentrating my efforts to bring in people and i’ll be starting with the first 10 youtubers that i love that i hope we can get to become a valued member of the community here in steemit - i’m hoping that my initial account setup, covering the cost, making that easier to deal with will make them feel empowered to start and that the courses will give them the information they need to not only engage but be retained as daily regular bloggers to the platform — i realise that the videos may go out of date with the new frontend/condenser look but i feel like no time like the present to start bringing in the next million people right? :)

  • youtubers that should be here on steemit
  • e-residency advocates that should be here
  • gamers and clans mainly for a future project (excite!)
  • kickstarter projects because steem can facilitate the conversation
  • patreon projects have a similar vibe to steemit
  • twitch streamers an offline space for the audiences
  • brand advocates who inspire me with their work
  • van dwellers and digital nomads working from the road

the niches i’m aiming at are listed above, i’m not just going on audience size (but of course that matters) but what they do and why, the quality of their productions, who they are as people, why their message and content matters and because i believe they would make a great home here on steemit, also incredibly selfishly i want them to appear in my news feed and hopefully too by doing this they will follow me back too. everyone wins! :)

100 free passes split between skillshare & udemy

i’m creating a free code so that you can pick up the course for free on skillshare and udemy from this blog post for all the people using steemit i've set it for premium mainly because of the time it took me to create the videos — if i was creating another course with this much information i'm just always trying to cover my time and the value you hopefully get out of it, we all have to eat right? :)

these courses will go up once i’ve completed all of the videos but you can get them day by day, video by video on youtube, dtube and viewly as i’m making them, they will be packaged and complete to both skillshare and udemy within seven days from this post - you can find my skillshare profile and udemy profile <- at these hyperlinks ;)

grab course on Udemy and Skillshare within seven days from the post day. support your course creators!

i'd love your feedback, i'd love your help. any suggestions for videos that you think i should be makin let me know. i'm intending to not only use youtube and facebook to advert the videos but i'll also continue to make my collobrative videos like i did with the first one i did here on steemit. we need more of that, we need to know the people behind the blogs that frequent these digital decentalized halls. we may be decentralized in location, but we are centralized in our compassion for each other. i'm super proud to call myself a steemian.

decentralized future content

we have already setup new accounts for this new (hopefully) unrestricted future of sharing video - @teamvideo and @teamaudio are our posting accounts for that. we wanted to keep those vlogs, videos, tutorials, screencasts away from this account but instead resteem and upvote them from either the @teamhumble or @dayleeo accounts. just keeps things neater from a security perspective too. we would love you're support.
