Steemit is an awesome platform with one of the friendliest communities online. But does it need to grow to survive?
last night while I was researching for another post to make. I couldn't help but think about the scale of the Steemit platform in the grand scheme of things. The number of current registered Steemit users is just over one million, however the current number of active users is less than half that. Considering this platform is only a couple of years old, it is a very impressive number to be proud of, but when you compare how well other social media sites started out and how they are currently interconnected to both each other and the users, Steemit is almost like a raindrop in a lake.
Facebook in there 2nd year of operating had over 250million. Twitter, who is nearly as old, had over 100 million users in there first 2 years of operating. It is a similar story with YouTube, Instagram, Reddit, Pinterest, hell... even Myspace and the irremovable friend called Tom... all of which were hugely popular soon after there respective sites were only a few years old.
I suppose the main difference between them and the Steemit platform, is that they either filled a void / need on the web very early on, or had immense financial backing. Steemit on the other hand, while it has filled a void / need on the blockchain side of things, with only a fraction of the financial backing of other sites mentioned, is essentially trying to compete with giants of social media.
Now when we compare the financial side of social media, those same giants rely on advertising as there main income, and those users who make a living or supplement there own financial circumstances of those platforms, take away a fraction of the earnings they make. And that is the main aspect that Steemit has going for it... you sign up, and from the moment you make your first post and the community upvotes it, you are earning money, for nothing more than talking about your travels, home life, advice, information, or even just taking a picture that is unique. That is the main focus of this platform.
The community is also a great aspect of this platform. As a content creator, I know that making as many connections as possible is beneficial for my brand and the team behind it, but also beneficial for the site as a whole, because we are essentially advertising ourselves, and the more likeable those people are, the more notice you will take of there work, subsequently, you will upvote and interact more. There is the odd dick head who tries to take advantage of the platform and does nothing but copy and paste replies and posts. But as a community, there are some users who make it there soul purpose on this platform to eradicate such idiots. We are grateful for there work, and we interact with them more... again, making more connections.
Expanding.
So after all this randomness about the ins and outs of this platform was floating around my head last night, today I took it upon myself to create a few banners, complete with links/code to help towards drawing people to Steemit, to let them experience what it is all about, even if they don't make a shit ton of money straight away, they can make some good connection, and because of the fantastic good nature of the Steemit community, as a side effect, they will make friends, and hopefully enhance this already incredible platform.
So here are some banners, images, complete with links and code for you all to use or edit as you see fit. The Steemit logo was taken directly from the top left corner of this site. So I hope @ned doesn't mind.
The idea behind these images is for you to take them and post on other platforms to draw people over and basically, advertise Steemit.com. If you want a more customised one, feel free to ask and I will see what I can do.

It has been a long time since I have done any creative work such as this, especially the animated side, but to also help with promoting Steemit, I have also created a couple of designs that are available to buy on the TechMojo Merch Store. Please note, I will make no profit from these designs on the Merch store. Just doing this because I see the potential this platform has and I am willing to do my part to make it happen.
So get copying, make them your own, post around the web, get more people over here, make more connections, make more friends, make more money and make #Steemit explode.
ReSteem and Spread the word guys.
